Reducing the size of the Mission Bungalow

I placed the completed kit on its planned location on the club layout and it was over-sized for the setting. I needed to cut the house down some amount. This is what I did and how I did it.

IAIS's West End - Atlantic yard office - DONE

Atlantic, Iowa is the home of a very modest Iowa Interstate yard, and in my May 2005 era, that yard played host to an even more modest yard office.  That little Starbilt pre-fab structure, one of many like it that served as replacement depots at a number of Rock Island stations in the 1970s, is the subject of my latest modeling project.

More details to follow in the first reply.

Longmont Sugar Mill...... base scenery almost done!

It has been awhile since i have posted anything but I thought I would share how the layout is going. The Longmont Great Western sugar mill is just about done with base scenery. I took the prototype and design and condensed model and my friend Sean build the model it has a hard under structure but the outside is all paper! this has cause me to learn some new methods for doing scenery as the paper can not get soaked in water while everything is drying (making the process much slower). Still some detail that need to be 3D printed some in the photo need to be painted yet to come. Here are some photos of the work.

Happy Modeling

TCS Throttle Delay

We lost a month for no good reason (on our part). Here is an update on the status of the injection molds for the TCS throttles. The bottom line is that they went dark for a month, so our chances of shipping before Christmas are not very high. Grrrr. Details are in the video.

The Hill Salt car goes home. Very special ending for RBHX 3

I was recently contacted by the officials and owners of the Robert B. Hill Salt Company. They had found my MRH Blog about the building of their car. This is the story that ensued and the gifting of the model to the company and it's amazing owners and staff.

USAF paint match vehicles in the 60's & 70's

I need some help finding a hobby paint that will match the USAF Strata Blue used on vehicles in the 60s and 70's.  I have a couple USAF flatcars that I would like to add some loads of air force trucks and will need to paint them.

Thanks, Rodney
