Toying with O scale
There was a year about 10 years ago that I was regularly attending the train show at Timonium MD and a fellow came in selling his fathers HUGH collection of O scale cars, ..no engines, just cars.
Even though I am an HO guy, I decided to buy some with the idea of taking them to my retirement in Thailand. I spoke of this back over on this subject thread.

The UFO Incident on the ATSF Paradigm Division (Humor)
Several days ago, I had gone out to my layout to run some trains but I was shocked to see what turned out to be some kind of UFO incident alongside the river bank near San Angela (Lawrence, KS). It appeared that one UFO had crashed near the riverbank with another UFO sitting astride the track. This is the video story of the UFO incident or was it just weather balloons and dummies…….
Never be afraid to make changes on the fly...
So today is another one of those days that highlight the constant changes that can be, and that are often made to a model railroad as they are being built.
It's often the case of a fresh set of eyes can change things, and the below case is just another example.
The yard lead into the Shippensburg Yard will undergo yet another change that will make operations much better & smoother too.
All the world...
is just a stage. I'm taking the philosophy that I'm going to complete my layout one scene at a time. I view the layout as a series of 'sets' that the viewer passes through. Each 'set' will be visually isolated from the others to a certain extent so that people experience them one at a time. Within each 'set' will be a series of detailed scenes that the viewer has to carefully analyze to get an overall idea of the time and location of the layout.

Publishing model train videos on YouTube? Don't worry about it ...
This has blown up on YouTube the past couple of days - apparently the Federal Trade Commission is putting teeth into COPPA (Child Online Privacy Protection Act), to the tune of a $42,530 fine per violation (video)... since most of the world considers what we do to be "playing with toys," what we put up on YouTube can potentially fall afoul of this.
8th Street Yard
Well surveying crews have extended down the line to start working on the Small yard. Here is the plan:
And here are some pictures of road bed going in and backdrop going up, enjoy.
