Height clearence for Autoracks, Woodchip cars, Intermodal, etc..
Hey guys, getting ready to precut all the parts for the first new layout module this evening (hopefully) after we get some yard work done and wondering about the height requirements for modern equipment. I know with my 50's stuff 4 to 41/2 is plenty, but it would be nice to be able to run loaded intermodal and the like every now and then or when I have people over to run trains. Despite having the layout set in the 1954, I do have an interest with modern stuff. Looking for actual height from bottom of wheel - not including flange - to the top of the car.
NCE Control Bus Cable Substitute
Hey guys, back with another question for Nolan's. Does anyone know where to get the Control Bus Cable needed for connecting the SB5 to the Command Station? Been checking around online and I can't seem to find it. If we can't find a place to get it, what do we substitute? I know with Digitrax you can just use any six-wire cable, but NCE no idea. Thanks in advance!
PSX-AR cababilities
Hey guys, back with another DCC question. We've got a double-track wye that leads the the station throat and complex on Nolan's layout. In laying out the detection blocks for signaling, the outermost two tracks of the would obviously be able to be used at the same time, while taking either of the inners legs would be one block since taking either leg occupies both inner tracks.
Hocking Valley 3.0 Final Track Plan
Alright guys, after some more tweaking, here's the final plan. the Modules will basically be Luke Towan's method with the added mod of extra bracing over the staging yard since that will be the end of the branch line that splits off by the door. That sections going to be just a hair tricky since I'm going to make it dual mode with DC pulse width modulation throttles. Need a place to test run DC stuff before I convert it, plus I also have a couple friends with DC stuff that'll be able to come over and run.
Multiple NCE Boosters
Hey guys, so it's getting to the point on Nolan's layout that were ready to split the wiring into two broad booster districts, with that subdivided into power districts. My question is whether we can turn both the command station and booster on at once, or whether we have to turn on the command station on first and then the booster in sequence as we do with the club's Digitrax System. I never messed with NCE, so this is a little out of my knowledge base.
Thanks in advance,
Jacob
