Thanksgiving project
Well, we're over here visiting Aunt Joan for the holiday and figured I'd bring finish the conversion on Mr. Nolan's passenger cars while I had the chance. These are Athrean Blue Box cars that I've converted from body to truck mount couplers. Will have a how-to on this at some point, so stay tuned.

Track Diagrams For Ops
Been fiddling with track schematic diagrams in Xtrack CAD. I had some op sessions on the last layout but never got around to actually printing diagrams so people would now where industries and tracks were. Now that I've actually got two-foot isles that are wide enough for three or four people, I'm ramping up ops mode. Our church life group is having a white elephant gift thing on December 17th, so If I'm lucky the layout will be ready and I can have an actual op session!!!!!!! That's the goal anyway. As always, hope you enjoy and stay tuned!
The Start of Track Weathering
So this is what I've got as a start to my track weathering. Note grey is only a base coat. By the time I come back with ballast, cinders, and add rust to the guardrails and the like, this should blend pretty well. I'll probably add some black and yellow-ish highlights to represent freshly creosoted and extremely weathered ties respectively. Anyways, enjoy and look for more soon. Sorry in advance about the one picture, still can't figure out how to turn images. Oy.
Layout is up!!!
Finally!!!! Still have a few places to patch back up, but I can at least run trains. Stay tuned, more to come in November's update.
