MRH magazine

A big thanks to Ken Patterson

I would like to give a big thank you to Mr. Ken Patterson, for his hospitality, opening up his home, for this past weekends St. Louis RPM Meet.   It was great to finally meet him, and see his beautiful HO layout, and superb models. It was very enjoyable to just kick back with the other visitors, and talk about model railroading, and the hobby in general.    This was my first RPM Meet, and I will be back next year for sure.

Status of July magazines **July 17th update**

E

The July issue of MRH and Running Extra are on track for an almost-on-time release.

MRH should be going out for final text-only staff review by the morning of the 14th.

Ad placement should begin later that day, and MRH should show up very late on the 15th or on the wee hours of the 16th.

Running Extra will be about two days behind MRH this time, likely showing up the evening of Saturday, July 17th.

I will keep you posted because things do come up, including an unexpected family emergency that takes time away from the office.

Is it time for some mention of the July issue?

There has been no mention of the July 2021 issue yet. The inference is that it will also be delayed. If true that would be understandable. I'm in good health, age adjusted, and the second Covid shot gave a bad reaction. (Chills, fever, then night sweats. then it was done) I can only imagine what a full case can do to you.

Don't rush back for us. If it's going to be late I can read my collection with a finer eye for now.

Uggh - All my back issues are gone - EDIT: Not gone, just invisible in Win10?

Since the very beginning, I've kept every issue of MRH on my network drive for easy reference from any device the house.  I upgraded to a NAS (Network Attached Storage) this weekend and was migrating everything over from the network drive when I discovered that all the folders exist for each MRH edition, however, the folders were empty.  Every. Single. One.  I don't know how this happened as I've referenced different issues regularly over the years.  I just read June's issue a couple weeks ago, but its gone, too.

High-speed trains lead the European economy to recovery

The ideal technology, which will benefit from the government's efforts to stimulate their economies out of the current crisis, is likely to absorb a large number of labor from the construction industry affected by the recession, provide a long-term economic boost when completed, and provide environmentally friendly benefits along with that.

Status of June magazines

(As of June 15 at 3:45 PM Pacific)

MRH:

The June MRH is done now and ads are being placed, then the media and comment pages are being generated, and all links tested. We're running about two days behind at this point, so the June issue should be out later this week.

Major alert ... Joe and Patty got Covid, now convalescing

Heads up, Joe and Patty have come down with some very nasty bug.

UPDATE: Took a covid test to be sure and it's positive, so we have Covid-19.

Expect output from MRH in June to be much reduced. :-(

P.S. That’s the problem with being a mom and pop business. When BOTH mom and pop are sick, nothing moves.
