It's time once again for our annual state of the hobby address by none other than Joe Fugate the founder and publisher of the popular on line magazine Model Railroad Hobbyist.

The interview focusses on the success of the magazine, the effect that social media and the new digital world is having on the hobby overall. Plus we talk about TOMA "The One Module Approach" as well as a wide variety of other topics.

Last Project of the Year

Well here is the final project for the year. I Kit bashed a Highway Miniatures Erie B-2 Steam Shovel into a Marion Type 450. HBMS had 10 of these versatile units.

I used almost everything from the kit with the exception of the boiler.

First Craftsman Kit - Campbell Grain Elevator

So today/tonight I began my adventure into craftsman kits. And my first independent model railroad (just bought first house). And all that jazz. I've done numerous plastic kits from steam locomotives, cars, and buildings too.

I received Campbell grain elevator for Christmas this year and after some Q&A my first wall is currently under a bunch of paint cans drying.

Thank you to all of my MRH blog readers & especially for your comments during 2016. I hope that everyone has a Happy "Model Railroading" New Year in 2017.
