Scenery updates: Water to Puff Balls
we are a month an a half into 2019 and scenery is what I have been working on this year.
Construction underway
It has been 10 days since I last posted to the blog and begun construction on my new layout. I have managed to put together the two parts of the previous layout and add the first section of the new. As you can see from the photos the first horse shoe section is complete as far as bench work and some of the track goes. Due to the width of the section that holds the turntable and round house I wanted to complete everything that would be difficult to reach once it was moved against the wall.
Three of Four VIA Rail F40PH-2 Engines Finished
I have finished custom building the third of four N Scale Kato F40PH engines to VIA Rail colours.
This engine is in the later Large Flag scheme.

WIP Update #3 -VIA Rail F40PH-2 in N Scale
Today was spent researching, deciding a road number and applying decals to VIA RAIL F40PH-2.
Starting on new Layout
I have recently retired an moved to a new home so its time to give all the track, trains, and buildings a new place to be displayed and used. two portions of the old layout were left intact and will be incorporated into the new design. The plan is to be a three level shelf setup with a helix to move trains between levels. This blog will be a running commentary of the progress. I have gained a great deal of knowledge from the folks on this site and perhaps this blog will inspire and help others as well. I have included a pdf of the main level track plan for now.
WIP Update #2 -VIA Rail F40PH-2 in N Scale
With yesterdays ice storm I was able to install the decoder and gloss coat the shell of the VIA Rail F40PH-2 in N Scale, in the early small Canadian Flag scheme.
I airbrushed several very light coats of Humbrol Clear Gloss Varnish on the Kato shell in preparation for applying decals.
Modular layout (Italian railways + freelance).
Hi,
I would like to share with you the layout I am finally building.
It is staged in the Appenine Mountains of Italy (something like the Appalchians) and consists at the moment in a single station on three modules.

Today I was able to complete several stages including masking and airbrushing the black areas of the roof, nose and bottom of the Kato shell.
