Weathering Order of Operations

Hey Guys,

I'd like to start a running list of individuals 'order of operations.' What I mean is, in what order do you weather? I'm sure there are a variety of ways and so I'd like to pool them together to cross reference.

For example, if I were to guess, this is how I might start:

Tornado relief

I just want to send out this message to those of you in the south that were affected by this past weekends outbreak of tornadoes. I just want you to know that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers. It's funny how we can take life for granted sometimes. You never know what life has in store for us.

I wish all of you the best!

I would like to kindly ask the rest of you reading this post, to keep these people in your thoughts as well.

Take care & God Bless!!

Steve

MKT/Katy GP7 (Road #120-123) Pics of the roof

Hey there, railfans and modelrailroaders!  I have a question.  I'm modeling a MKT GP7 in HO and I want to go with one of the 120-123 road numbers.  My problem is that I can't find a good picture of the roof to model it after.  I have the tubes to go on top, but I don't know how the line routes off the tube and into the locomotive.  I have found pics of road #122 in a side view and I can see the line coming off, but not where it goes.

Joining a model railroad club

I have a lot of childhood / armchair railroad experience, but now am ready to start building my own layout.  I'm thinking of joining the local club - I would certainly learn a lot and get lots of hand on experience.

The layout is freelance, but it is very unconvincing.  It's supposed to be a fictional northeast layout, set in the mid-fifties.  There are so many anachronisms, and the structures, scenery, and rolling stock don't have a cohesive fit or feel.  I was surprised how much this grated on my nerves, and it really bothered me.

Railway oddities

Came across the following site, strange prototype railroad items. At least worth a laugh!:

Using syringes to apply CA

I need to apply minute amounts of super glue and I'm thinking of using a hypodermic syringe to apply thin CA cement?  But I have a few questions.  Does anyone have experience doing this?  Will the syringe dispense the glue before it dries?  Will the CA dissolve the rubber seal on the syringe or the barrel?  Can the needles and syringes be cleaned with Acetone to allow them to be reused?  Can I buy and use "regular" type syringes I've found online?

Thanks ahead of time.

George
