Scanning 35mm slides to digital files

I want to transfer some 35mm slides to digital files. I'm talking about fewer than 50 slides. They are prototype shots I took in Kansas in the 1970's. Anybody have any experience with this? I have found small scanners for slides and negatives but I'm not sure what the results will be like. There is one listed on line for less than $100 that has good reviews. Cheaper ones have less good reviews. I don't know if there is an adapter for my Epson all-in-one that would work. I like the scanner in the printer and have scanned a lot of documents, some even railroad related...

PFE, SP, WP & UP

I have a few PFE reefers in my inventory for the 50's-60's era, they add some nice colour to the layout. I'm currently in the process of preparing waybills for my layout and have had no luck in locating shipper information, locations and companies (co-ops), for PFE shippers. Lots of information available on the net about the organization of PFE and specific cars, but nothing on the many shippers.

My head is spinning!

I've recently been informed that my open house date for the Piedmont Pilgrimage will be on October 15th - the first day of the event.  The Piedmont Pilgrimage is the annual tour of model railroads for the Piedmont Division of the NMRA and this year will have over 80 model railroads on the tour in the Atlanta, Georgia area that goes until late November.

Need info S.Carolina railroad

A friend of mine was hiking in South Carolina when he came across an abandoned rail line. He called me to see if I could tell him some history about it before he returns next month for more hiking. Made me laugh how friends find out you are building a model railroad and all of a sudden you become the default railroad expert. Of course I know nothing about railroads in South Carolina.

By chance is anybody familiar with the Pickens area in South Carolina? Specifically, the Eastatoe Creek Preserve near Rocky Bottom.

NMRA show in Sacramento

Does anyone know how to find out what is actually on display at the Sacramento NMRA show? I have looked in vain for a clear description on zany of their websites- the show is expensive- i live in Sacramento and would go if I knew what I was going to see- i only need merchandise /parts sellers not clinics (unless it is how to rebuild old model wood/metal kits - a declining issue it seems) ANY help appreciated.

I will go to the show this weekend that has all the vendors- is that how the whole thing works-  a show for w=show and tell and a separate show for merchandise??

Purchasing from a MRH advertiser - and letting them know I saw them on MRH!!

Hello all-

There is another thread going about letting an advertiser / sponsor know you saw them in MRH, and a few others about troubles with some suppliers (not necessarily a MRH advertiser).

I wanted to let everyone know about my terrific experience with Yankeedabbler, a MRH supporter.

I needed a number of DCC products, namely:

3 Tsunami 828043 decoders

3 Tsunami 828020 decoders

1 Tsunami 828023 decoder

4 Tsunami 810113 speakers

3 Tsunami 810129 speakers

1 Digitrax PR-3 interface

That time of year again...

Okay everyone - we're headed off to the NMRA Convention and the National Train Show next week.

As normal, we're going to try to do interviews with vendors (and videos of the layouts as well).

So - who would you like to see us interview, and what would you like us to ask them.

Please keep the controversy to a minimum - I learned better than to ask questions that annoy advertisers...:-)

For whom was looking for ferry info, found this one today:

This ferry is as basic as they come. Proportions can be guesstimated from pic. Please note the bridge in the middle of the breeze!
