Ottawa Train Expo - May 2012
I had the pleasure of attending the inaugural Ottawa Train Expo this past weekend. I don't have any comments about the show itself, except that I enjoyed myself. I did, however, take a few pictures of what was there. You can view them here:
Correct Color for GM&O
Are there any GM&O modelers on the forum that could help me with the correct color for GM&O locomotives. The color that I am looking for is the orange red color of the older RS engines.

Is it practical to model pre-WW2 in N scale?
I'm working on a track plan, more or less for the heck of it and because I enjoy such things. While I'm mainly an HO modeler, I am finding that to meet the arbitrary design criteria I have set would require working in N scale. Since it's all hypothetical and nothing but a file in the computer, it's not really that critical, but I'd like to think that a design I come up with would be practical. I might even want to do an article on the design for MRH when I finish it.

First look at the new Virginian & Southwestern/ the L&N
First look at John Wilkes new L&N layout. This is part one. Part two will be the Southern Railroad. Johns layout is in 3 levels with two large helix's connecting the levels. The railroad is based in the area of Norton Va. where the L&N and Southern run side by side with some areas using joint trackage .Hope you enjoy.

advice on MTH Cab Forward problem
I short circuited the track that my MTH Cab Forward was standing on. I cannot get sound now. I have pressed F3 (turns sound on) and F6 (sound toggle) to no avail. No sound at all.
The unit runs okay.
What is the damage and how can I rectify this problem?

Advice on air compressor for air brushing models
My old air compressor is nearing the end of its life. I want to get a new one with all the bells and whistles. I use an Aztek air brush and would like to have a compressor with a air gauge so I can modify the pressure . I want an moisture filter and would also like a small air tank so compressed air is always available right away. Size and noise are issues too, but not as big a deal breaker as quality.
Please list any models and places to obtain them if you like what you have.
Thank you, Thomas G
Barrel Colors
I am looking for long memories here.
Does anyone remember the barrel paint schemes that were used by Canadian fuel suppliers in the 50's/60's?
Imperial Oil (ESSO) used Red/White/Red, I believe the B/A (now Gulf) used Green/Orange/Green or maybe it was Blue/Orange/Blue. But can't remember what Co-op, Shell and Texaco used. Also would be interested in the color codes for some of the American companies as well - although I think Standard (or is it Mobile) used Red/White/Red as well.

MRH Webcam Chat Sessions...
I thought I would kick of this thread after some discussion on another thread regarding MRH members starting a online webcam chat community.
As I mentioned I have already had an iChat (Apple Chat system) with Richard (rfbranch), it was an enjoyable 4 hours of discussing each others layouts, sharing of ideas and seeking thoughts from each other. It was also mentioned by Joe that with internet advances in the future, we may see MRH adopting this as part of their website.
