MEK as plastic cement?
Saw on another forum sometime ago that MEK was basically the same stuff as liquid plastic cement. Having discovered my bottle I had on hand not tightly capped in a box and therefore gone and not wanting to wait on mail order, I'm wondering if it's true that they are one and the same. I know they both smell basically the same and both require ventilation and care in using but what say the experts?

Detection/Flasher Circuit Board
I recently purchased a pair of Tomar crossing signals (H862). I trying now to decide on what detection/flasher board to purchase. I have come across one by Circuitron (DF-1) and another one by Logic Rail Technologies (Grade Crossing Pro). Both are very similar. Does anyone have experience with either one? Any advice would be appreciated.

Here are a couple photos of my N scale layout.
Bulk Comodity industries : Spur length and position
Dear MRHers,
Was just looking thru some MRR blogs, and saw something which has me scratching my head.
There are many modellers who use single-ended spurs to handle "bulk commodity" loading/unloading. I'm thinking primarily of:
- woodchip rotary dumpers
- coal and ore loaders (not "flood loaders" with balloon-loop systems, eat too much space for most modellers)
- molten steel (torpedo or "tip-over pot" ladle cars?)
- Grain loading/dumping
Mimic board construction
I am currently looking for ideas and construction methods for mimic boards for my layout. I have an underbench storage of 4 roads either side of a mainline through the centre. I have adream that the access to the roads would appear as a lighted rout ie red where you cant go and green showing the current route. Appeciate any thoughts

Printing White?
I have not looked at this for a few years, The Alps printers are gone and I was wondering if there is any new technology for printing white or metal colors for decals and signs. I am hoping for a home solution that will not break the bank. Any information will be welcomed.
Regards,
John

Scratch built all door boxcar.
I remember a thread about a scratch built all door boxcar. I went through all of the forum pages in the rolling stock section, but I could not find it. I tried Ron Goodwin's index, but I don't think the MRH forums or blogs are listed there, yet. At least there was no reference to anything in the way of scratch built rolling stock on the MRH forums or blogs in his search engine. think the thread may have been started by Mountain Goat Greg, but I am not sure. I could not find any sort of index to members or blogs on the site. Doea anyone re
