Latest video - Action packed footage from late 90's

Lots of action in this one. Grab a beer as this one is over 30 mins in lenght.

Changing times in railroads where the wide cab high horsepower was just setting in on the B&O lines in and out of Cumberland and Baltimore. Lots 1st and 2nd generation EMD as the railfan theme along with the "new at the time" SD70macs.

Cab Ride on a Jordan Spreader work job.

No, I was not on duty at the time of filming.

Enjoy and have a great weekend.

BLI Stock Car

Greetings everyone,

I’m having problems with my BLI stock car. The cows will moo once when I either place it on the layout or turn on the power but will not make another noise even when moving. I have tried selecting the decoder number (3) and even tried to get DecoderPro3 to find it, but no luck.

I have tried checking the power pickups and they are making good contact.

Anyone else had this problem or got any ideas for a fix?

Thanks in advance,

Tim

Time for a seismic shift? (Lego vs. ...)

This last week, I had some epiphanies regarding my model railroading that caused a minor crisis, and I thought that it might be interesting discussion fodder, especially given the new "imagineering" expansion that MRH has taken on. As the topic alludes to, it involves Lego, which I know has been discussed before, but hear me out...

[N scale] Turtle Field Layout tour

I all.

Here is a presentation of my layout. The finished part is 3' 1/2 by 6'.

Here is the track plan :

The bench work is a plywood open grid structure, with hole to have a lighter weigh :

A bit of model rail scenery "eye candy"

Just got back from another trip to the Smokies. Here's a shot taken from 3,650 ft. More to come as I sort through some of them and size them right but right now I'm tired out from the trip.  Click the photo for a full screen view.

strange tressel

This is a former Nickel Plate RR that is on the back side of my Grandfather's former farm in Indiana. For the life of me I can not remember the tressel  having the kink in it.

For those of you interested in switching layouts..............

...............I came across this great web site with many photos of small steam and diesel switchers used on the New York Dock RR over the years.

Thought you might enjoy them, especially you, Nick!

Cardigan Junction. A few more shots

Thanks for the nice comments for my postings from yesterday. I appreciate Rene pointing out my curling shingles. I took some spray adhesive and used a small brush to address some of this situation today. For the most part I'm not to concerned  if a few shingles have this look. After all this depot was 100 years old when it was razed in 1984 and my depots were modeled back in 1981 from wood(scale lap siding) and paper shingles. Also thanks to Joe for the pixle help. Here are a few more shots using the 750. Prototype and model.
