Weekly Photo Fun 8/13/2017 to 8/19/2017

It is already a brand new week time for a new Weekly Photo Fun. There was a bunch of great photos and discussion last week, let's keep em rolling!!

Feel free to post your work, finished or in progress and I hope everyone has a great week!

In need of an old issue of MR

I am in need of an old issue of MR. August 1979 to be exact. And to be more specific the article on the Fonda, Johnstown and Gloversville Railroad. I have already checked MR back issues and they don't go back that far.

If anyone has that issue and wouldn't mind photocopying the article and mailing it to me. Or scanning it and emailing it to me, I will gladly pay any reasonable costs.

You can contact me at jjb522710@gmail.com

Thank you in advance

John

CityClassics

Does anyone know if the owners of CityClassics (Jim and Cyndi Sacco) are ok? Their web page cart is disabled, most of the product links from their site don't work and they mention dealing with some health issues. Nearly all their products are back ordered on Walthers and Hobbylinc. I certainly hope they are doing well. They are such an asset to our hobby. Does anyone know?

Layout Suprises and Humour

I just loved IrishRover's little bit of humour:

So what humour or special scenes do you have on your layout? My dad had an 8' rabbit on his whilst my layout features two dinosaurs hiding (photos to come)

Please share the little bits of whimsy you have put int your layout.

How much difference in color is there between 6500K and 6000K LED Light Strips?

I began purchasing LEDMO brand LED Light Strips in Warm Light 2835 3000K and Cool Light 5050 6000K specs so I have them on hand when I am ready to begin building the Interim P&A 2.0 Layout using the TOMA conept.  Now I find out LEDMO no longer makes the 5050 LED in 6000K, but they now have a 6500K version.

Calling it quits (from employment - NOT model railroading!)

After 52 years of working (22 yrs at my present employer) I'm retiring on August 18th.  Now, don't get any ideas that you'll see faster progress on my layout as I like to take my time! ;-)

PECO N code 80....mix and match ?

I`m new and plenty green and do apologize in advance for asking this question, `cause I know this has probably been asked "ad nauseam"

I`ve been slowly buying my track and some turnouts for my future build ,all of which is PECO N gauge code 80.

Can I mix and match my PECO flex track and turnouts with other turnouts and parts from other makers...say Atlas etc.?

If so ,what other manufacturers can be interchanged.

Thankyou for your time and patience.

Cleaning parts before painting.

Having just read the very interesting comments on "wet water", it brought to mind a similar question regarding preparation of models for painting. In reading the monthly RR magazines on this subject, a number of authors seem to default to washing items with soap and water and letting them dry overnight.
