Weekly Photo Fun 8/20-26/2017
I haven't seen any Weekly Photo Fun yet for this week, so I'll kick it off with a prototype photo of one of the ultimate model railroads - the Walt Disney World RR. I got to go on the Behind The Steam Magic Tour a few days after the National Convention/Train Show in Orlando -
The Roy O. Disney is just over 100 years old and a Baldwin product.

How I weather my HO rolling stock with VIDEO's
Here's a couple of video's I put together (albeit not that great I might add) but nonetheless show how I weather a Walthers HO scale caboose. I see so many horrible videos on youtube with the final product looking like a 6 year old weathered it that I just had to make my own. Hopefully this helps you feel confident to move forward and try a few yourself.

Part III of my Driline 7X11 shelf layout
Here's the final in a three part series of my Davenport, Rock Island and Northwestern Railway. A real short line railroad that ran along the banks of the Mississippi river in Iowa from 1903 to 1995. It's a small room size 7' X11' around the wall shelf layout. It could have easily been completed in only a few years, but life gets in the way and it took almost 10 years to complete. Now I'm on to weathering my engines and rolling stock. Another 10 year project LOL.
HO ship parts
Can anybody point me in a direction on where to purchase HO scale ship parts? Ive found a few sites selling older models and parts for old wooden sailing ships. Im however looking for more modern parts.

Cost of a train
Just read through http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/30850#comment-form blog and did not want to high jack the thread so though I would pose this question. How much do you spend on building a train?
dockside
sure there's a need for new dockside loco with all bells and whistles but who's going to spend $4,000 for it? The price of the hobby has just gotten --------------------.

37th National Narrow Gauge Convention Aug. 30th - Sept. 2nd, 2017 Denver, Colorado
Wondering how many people on MRH are going to the 37th National Narrow Gauge Convention in Denver?
It looks like it is going to be a great convention. Lots of good clinics, layout tours and friends.

Where has this guy been all my modeling life?
I'm talking about Luke Towan, owner of Boulder Creek Railroad and one amazing modeler. I stumbled upon his You Tube videos over the weekend and spent nearly all of sunday afternoon watching each and every one of them. going, "damn, this guy is good!"
If you have never seen his videos I urge you to go to YouTube and do a search for him. You will not be disappointed.
