A recent question on using video cameras in staging has prompted the start of this thread.

Iowa Model Train Shows dead?
I used to make annual trips to local train shows, the ones that happened within 150 miles or so. I had 3 regular annual shows, and looked forward to them during the winter/early spring when there wasn't much else to look forward to (think:brrrrrr). Maybe I'd buy some supplies or maybe not, chit-chat with vendors, etc. A nice get-away. The last one I went to my wife even won a door prize (she really appreciates the 40' CB&O boxcar as it runs around my our layout).

Railcar positioner no. 3
Dear friends.
We were not satisfied with our railcar positioner no. 2 (see our topic “Consolidated nickel Mines).
So, we scrapped the first 2 versions of the positioner, and went into a model railroading frenzy, first at the drawing table and then at our workshop.
Our railcar positioner no. 3 is an operational wire-rope system, composed of three 3-foot sections. We intend to take it at model railroading shows, as a stand-alone exhibit, together with our layout.
Herewith the “core” section, after an operational test.
Full Steam Ahead Series BBC
I'm sure this has been posted before but if not, definitely worth watching. Much of what we call modern life stemmed from the early introduction of steam freight and passengers trains in England. Things like fast food, schedules, travel books, traveling with strangers, moving from A to B quickly, all stemmed from England, and lots more.

information about military railway sidings
Good evening I'm a new member and I live in Italy precisely in NAPLES. I have recently entered the world of miniature railways, since I come from military modeling. I have always been fascinated by American trains and above all military ones. In fact I would like to make a small USA style model, I would like to put a military base or depot railway. Could you tell me if your topic has ever been treated in your magazine? or you could help me set up the route for this purpose and what kind of buildings they need.Thank you for all the help you could give me. Daniele
