Modeling general discussion
San Antonio & Aransas Pass (SAAP) Railroad
Hello everyone and Happy New Year! I am volunteering in the Milam County Railroad Museum in Cameron, Texas. We have a layout depicting both the Santa Fe and the SAAP back in the 40's. I am looking for model cars and locos plus any photos, artifacts etc pertaining to the SAAP.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Dan
Acrylic painting guide discussion thread?
I seem to remember a thread when the Acrylic painting guide came out that had corrections and some additional colors mapped out. I can't find the thread for the life of me. Am I loosing it or can someone point the way. I've found a reference chart on line and have mapped out the Vellajo model color and model game paint numbers to the model air numbers in Joe's book and just want to get them all. Bob
Photo software for modeling structures
I am interested in whether anyone is aware of anything in print or on the web about using photoshop or corel to import textures and combine them to make building models. I am familiar with Mindheim's work and use his system. Anything else out there?

Amherst Train Show
To anyone attending the Show this year, I just got in with a couple tables after a long wait, though very short notice I will have some specialty scenic materials, Pine Trees and materials to check out as well as the logging diorama there. Don't know where my tables are yet.

Weathering roofs
I'm looking for tips and ideas on how to achieve the look of these rooftops.
I got a set of Pan Pastels as a gift and am eager to use them, but I think I'll practice on some plastic scraps first.
Doug Tagsold contact info/assembled Super Tree source?
Does anyone have contact info for Doug Tagsold in Blissfield MI? I purchased some assembled Super Trees from him years ago and would like to buy more.
Does anyone have a source for assembled Super Trees? I hate making them and need tons!
TIA

What was model railroading like in the late '70's to early '80's?
I was wondering what the state of model railroading was like in the late '70's to early '80's, long before DCC, laser kits, and fastrack jigs. How good was the ready to roll equipment? I know horn hooks were common couplers. I'm just a bit curious--I was a kid then; my trains were tycho and AHM, with a few plastic kit cars and plastic buildings. Obviously, much better was available for serious modelers, though I had fun switching my Plywood Pacific.
Can we be "too realistic"?
Based on what's currently being discussed in the thread started by jamessix (http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/32110) I'd like to throw something out for consideration.
