Need Help Identifing a Steamer

Can anyone identify what locomotive this shell belongs to. I found it on Greenway Products, but the site doesn't give any information about it. I want to build a locomotive from it and learn about another fine loco.

Try to model this!

That would be interesting.  Maybe for a chainsaw layout?

Cleaning up old turnouts

I have a number of Peco Insulfrog turnouts that have been in storage for some time, and have some rust/tarnish on them. Obviously I need to clean the tops of the rails, but what cleanup do I need to do on the sides of the rails, particularly where the points come in contact with the stock rails? I’m planning on putting feeders on each of the stock rails, so won’t be relying on the po8nts for power routing. Thanks.

Kits, and craftsman, and pre-modern modeling.

I love kits... (I love sets, but, not talking sets this time)

"Pre-1960s modeling"... craftsman kits... Silver Streak, and Walthers kits... B.T.S cars, and the like... things that aren't RTR (nothing wrong with RTR, I love them too, but that's not what this is about)

So tell me. What are some of your favorite non-RTR kits for engines, cars, and rolling stock?

Please, include photos if you can!

Shorted again, how do you use a multimeter

Ok the layout was working fine until i shut down the layout to ballast. The layout is DC with block control using an atlas selector.I ballasted the track in block 2. After drying for a week. Now if the block is turned on everything shuts down.I used real crushed anthracite with wet water for ballast. I'm starting to think the anthracite might have become conductive and under the flex track where theres no ties, the anthracite bridged the 2 rails. This week Im going to buy a multimeter, so how does it tell you where the short is?
Thank you
MARK

Scaletrains new loco is the Dash 9

If you missed the announcement from Scaletrains today then you missed the engine announcement is the Dash 9 in HO and N scale. Accurate detailing for each railroad too. Peace out.

Free up your hands

Free up your hands when you're the engineer and conductor. Plug in a short phone jack to the throttle and attach to a neck lanyard. Works best with a radio unit, but may be adaptable to a tethered throttle as well.

Amherst Railroad Show

OK, Other than Joe and some/all of the MRH Staff, who's planning on being at the West Springfield Show?  I'll be there helping Friday afternoon and Sunday after the show closes, and wandering around on Saturday and Sunday. I hope to see some of you there.

MRH NOTE: Corrected the misspelling of Amherst.

Hats off to Bill at PDC

Just finished reading the positive review of Bill's large flatcar loads in the 2/19 NMRA Magazine. Nice job, Bill.
