Quality acceptance of 3D prints versus injection molded models
I'm interested in what modelers think about the acceptance of 3D prints versus injection molded models, especially with rolling stock? I've been 3D printing for a while now and at first I was leery of the quality because of the layering. But I've changed my perspective because after I paint and weather my 3D models (HO scale) I hardly notice any layering. The layering this still there, I just don't notice.
What’s on your workbench? September 2021
Couldn’t wait any longer ( ; > ) )

which cordless drill
In another thread I described a problem I had and someone suggested getting a screw extractor set. So I did, and it came today, and now I find out my old corded electric drill doesn't have a reverse function. Lest you doubt me, it's an old B&D 1/4" #7004 type 2.
Magnetic uncoupler alternatives
So I just tried rare earth magnets under the track to try and activate my magnematic couplers. (N scale). The magnets seem to pull the coupler in the opposite direction needed to uncouple. Also the poles seem aligned along the long edges instead of the short edges. Anyone had any luck with this or am I barking up a wrong tree? Also, given that the under the track alternative micro-trains sells for 10 bucks a pop seems excessive I would love to know what alternatives exist.

Need help with finding dimensions for HO Scale Branchline Freight Car BOXES
OK, I have another unique request for information. I purchased several HO Branchline freight cars (the ones in their own boxes, NOT the ones in relabeled Athearn Blue Boxes). They are in a storage tote in my storage trailer, but they are literally buried behind other totes and to get them out would be rather difficult right now. I just want to make sure the boxes will fit in the space on the custom made display tables I am making.
What ever happened to Trevor Marshall's S scale layout.
I read the Trevor had to tear down his layout, but can't find any info on if he will be putting it back together or what happen to his rolling stock and motive power.
Wireless Lighting for Buildings
Hi All,
Does anyone have any experience with the AirBrite lighting systems or something similar? Their solution appears to be geared towards the Christmas Village crowd but the idea of quickly deploying lighting without wires would speed up the detailing of my layout.. (Note, I am in no way associated with this vendor).
Best,
Mike Weber
