Random curve thought
Was wondering if anyone knew if there is a formula for converting curvature in degrees (like the prorotypes use) into raidus in feet (like we use) just wondering to see what my layout curves translate to in the real world
Thanks

Henry Ford Special
I've only read about this in two places on the internet, but there is mention of a steam locomotive that Henry Ford owned called the "Henry Ford Special" but I cannot find any more info on it. Can anyone shed light on what was the train, use, time in service etc???
Thanks!

TRAINS PLANES AND AUTOMOBILES
Hey folks here is somthing a little interesting the worlds largest model railroad MINIATUR WUNDERLAND (yes
it is spelled right) is adding an airport and I mean an airport with planes that take off and land. If you google
Miniatur Wunderland you can view quite a few videos on the layout which is pretty incredible. If you google
Gerrits Tagebuch you can see what he is designing for the layout. The videos are in German but they are
really great to watch (there are about a dozen or so) You will see a full working intenational airport with all
Hulett Ore Unloaders
Here is a very interesting video I came across when I was researching ore operations for a spot on my layout
I am getting ready for maybe a ore operation for my water front or I am looking into a carfloat operation. I am
leaning more towards the car float. But like I said this video was interesting.

Layout Photo Fun 12-10 (Post your latest masterpiece....or attemps whatever the case may be
I know, I know...... we don't have a weekly train layout photo montage like other websites but I just couldn't stand it any longer. If Joe wants to pull this that's fine, but what the heck here goes nothing....
NEW HO P2k SD9s coming!!! 6/11
I just read my Walthers (MRH Sponsor) December 2010 flyer and right there on the cover NEW Proto SD9s coming... see page 4. (This is could be better than going straight to page 3 for those that remember and know what I mean ). Page 4 shows DCC w/sound (QSI) and DC coming in June 2011. Limited one time number runs in BN, DRGW, GN and Chessie. A little pricey but compared with everything else these days they seem right in line.

Parts of a freight car and the detail parts to fit
Hey All,
I'm trying to put together a list of parts that you would find on a freight train–the most common items at least–so that I can best represent the prototype. I would also like to find all modern detail parts that manufacturers put out. I'll start the list, so please add to this if you have the info. Remember, modern parts!
Coupler (Sergent Engineering puts out a very nice prototypical coupler called the EC87A. You can find them at http://sergentengineering.com/ )
Decals
Now that Champ is gone, (Don't blame me,I bought as many as I could), Does anyone know a source of Gold Roman 1/16th high alphabet and numeral sets for passenger cars? I just bought more troup cars and really would like to renumber them so I don't have any duplicates!
Thanks in advance.

Model Railroader Magazine Index comming back
I just got this on the newsletter. The magazine index will be comming back, in 2011.
Here's the headlines from the MR Newsletter:
NMRA MRR index
I have started using the new index and it seems to work OK. At least I have been able to find a few magazine articles I was interested in. Good job to whoever is doing this.
The discontinued index thread was getting to long so I started this one. I looked around but did not see if anyone had started a new thread or I missed it.

I have noticed a few weeks ago the the "other" forum does not let want any link to MRH. It gets removed rather quickly. At least it has for me.
