MRH Magazine general discussion

Forum look and useability

Joe etal

I love what you guys are doing but I really must moan about the forum side!

The forum will be the life blood of the magazine, in that normal people can comment and contribute; and therefore should be of the same comparable quality.

Your videos are broadcast quality! The content is exquisit!!

Your forum ain't very user friendly! Sorry la!!

Tony Koester book on two-level layouts

I saw an ad for it in the new MR.  Why they didn't do The Siskyou Line trips me out?

Nice to see some more sponsors on board!

Just noticing there are a few more sponsors on board, including one I emailed to suggest they look at this magazine as an advertising vehicle.  Hopefully many more will follow, and let's try to buy products from these places whenever possible.  I've already pre-ordered some things from one of the sponsors.

access to posts

Joe

would it be possible to put the page information at the top of the page as well as the bottom?

on longer threads of 2 or more pages then we wouldn`t have to scroll down to the bottom of the first page to access the following pages.

I know i`m getting lazy in my old age.

Flash Player 9 HELP needed

I saw Joe’s VR post with the SD 45. I saw the picture and opened the thread to read more. The picture wasn’t there. I went back to Joe’s blog  and now the picture was gone. I went to the Siskiyou site and I was able to see and rotate the VR there but not here.  I saw Joe’s post on FP9. I thought I had FP9 but I went through the download process and it said it was successful. Still no picture. Went through this a couple of times and rebooted. No picture. Even re-did the ActiveX program too, still no picture.

Site thoughts...

Joe, something has been bothering me for some time, relating to the site. I think I just figured it out.

Why, may I ask, are the Theater and Contact links below the banner, where as they seem to fit better with the tabs to the top? I'd think the links below, should be sub-cats of the main tabs above. Reason I ask, is "Current Issue" and "magazine" seem to be the same link "topic" but things feel like they bounce back & forth.

Only a small nit-pick from me. Just feels odd the way it is. Anyone else have thoughts along this line?

National Narrow Gauge Convention Layout Tour

I had the opportunity to visit Joe's layout during the NNGC in Portland last week. It is impressive. Did anyone out there from the convention get to see it besides me? My wife is a professional shopper and also enjoyed the nearby mall outlet stores. Thanks Joe.

Sample Magazine

I finally got to see the 10 page sample magazine today. I know i should have done it much earlier but there were some technical problems and the matter of not wanting to fool with it.

Getting lost allready

Been here for a few weeks now.  Reading the content and trying to get a handel on what to read and what not. Getting more and more dazed and confused. Sure it is fun to read about this neat software imaging package and all the great layouts pictured,  then LDE, then Google, then someone starting his layout or someone modifing his loco...

Then the longest running  thread is about baching MR.  Not learning anything in that thread.

I seem to be getting '  information overload '.

Monday Night Movie

Joe-I was very impressed with the new Monday Night Movie. Excellent idea. The panel discussion was very informative. Bob
