UV cured epoxy, a little story.....

Found out something interesting today.  A while ago I wanted to try UV activated epoxy.  I’ve got some in my mouth and it seems to want to stay there so I figured it might be handy.  I ordered the cheapest thing I could find on eBay coming from China and waited for it to arrive.  When it did I tried dripping some on a part and then shining the light from the associated UV flashlight that came with the liquid epoxy.  The epoxy took its time getting a skin on and I finished it off on the back porch railing.

Sealing Cardstock

I recently picked up a an old Bekins Storage building kit, that I'm going to build as a large background flat.  This is an cardstock type kit and I was wondering what it should be sealed with.  Is paint on both sides of the cardstock good enough, or is there a specific product?   Did a quick search of the MRH website, and the couple of articles I scanned didn't mention sealing, or I missed it...lol.

Airbrush manifold project...

When you want to run dual DragonAir - airbrushes, you need a custom manifold.

Tonight’s project all completed, brass fittings, Iwata flow control valves with gauges.
I may even give this the SMS Paint treatment to match the Iwata valves...

Putting Shingles on my Station

I have been spending a bit of time every few nights putting shingles on my station. I like the wood shingle effect an colours that suggest aged roofing. I am nearly complete this part of my structure, so how did I get to this point.

Straining paint prior to airbrushing......

We’ve all done it, added paint to the airbrush w/o straining it when in a hurry and needing only tiny bit, right?  The result very often leads to a clogged airbrush and there goes all that time you saved by not straining the paint!

So, how do you strain it?

HO scale DCC operating CNJ steam crane (and wreck train) build. The journey.

After a lot of back and forth with myself I decided to strip the repaint the cab with the correct decals to the era I model as well as changing out the digitrax decoder for an ESU loksound micro. I then added a custom made sound set I created using their software and lokprogrammer.
