Layout tour

CCW

Here are a few views of my O scale railroad the Charles City Western. The layout is 100% modular although I don't take any of them to shows any more, too much work getting the out of the room. Most of the power is rebuilt atlas WDT industrial switchers. It is a switching layout Inbound cars are received from interchanges at either end of the railroad (removable storage trays) and spotted to the local industries. It can take a two hours to make a round trip.

King Stone

King Stone is just about done - a few more "people" working will make it more complete. Also, attached from left to right is an overview of the railroad  - East Yard to East Tunnels to Westbound past King Stone and Ivanhoe Road Station. To the right of the station is the future bridge to the West portion of the layout scheduled for construction in January. In the foreground you can see the last two sidings to be put in that cross over one another - left going to right coal company trestle and right going to left and down to a lower level box company.

Train Masters TV hicups

I jumped into TrainMasters when Joe asked for Beta testers. Tonight is the first time I had any issues with viewing the videos. I suspect it is related to lots of us on the forum hitting the videos at once.

Two films made during the last operating session

Hello,

at the last weekend I held an operating session. First a film which shows our trials with the British Railways Bell Codes for communication between the stations.

The second film was made at the end of the session and shows some trains running on the Garve and Ullapool Railway.

Richlawn RR V2 - Video of current state of the railroad as of 11-10-13

It isn't much to look at presently, but that will change!  You can only determine so much with still pictures, so I put my tripod in the middle of my layout room, attached my digital still camera (640 x 480 - ugh!) and made a little video about 2:45 long to give you an idea of the space.

Another Great Model Railroad from "It's Always Free" Grande Pacific Productions. No commercials no fees. Watch enjoy pick up on what other modelers are doing.  This will be one of three in our latest trip in running trains.

British Railways reality

This layout is not for the easily offended! Highly irreverent, politically incorrect, but a layout that none-the-less reflects the reality of some back street railways in the UK - with some added licence.  There is great animation (how did he crush the VW combi van?), a lovely and dainty layout cat, plus other wildlife.  Harry Potter, Ghostbusters ...... I'll not spoil it any more.  Just watch.

Cab Ride Video experiments on the Columbia & Western

Hi everyone...

Inspired by the recent excellent videos I saw of a N scale Sand Patch layout, I went and got myself a Looxcie "wearable" video camera.  After two weeks of messing with bad memory cards, faulty desktop software settings and, last but definitely not least, my inexperience with my wife's iPad I got the system up and running yesterday.  Many, many thx to excellent the Looxcie support team.

Take a Ride on the Valley Local

Hi guys,  I've been lurking here for a while and just wanted to introduce myself.  My name is Chris and I'm modeling the New Haven Railroad's Connecticut River Valley Line as it was in October, 1947.  I'll be modeling the "Air Line" as well, since it crossed the Valley line at grade in Middletown, CT.
