The "Weathering" Pothole
My wife has frequently observed that my road to model railroading accomplishments is indeed a long and winding one. It seems my attention is easily captured by the latest "squirrel" moment, sometimes triggered by a post on this or another message board or facebook group, other times something I see along the tracks. Over the last few months I have fallen into a weathering pothole on the road to completion (a goal far, far in the future!)

Mini and Micro LDE's on my layout
I use LDE's on my layout, but in a different way. You can read about this here.

Remotor recommendations
I want to remotor possibly three of my Intermountain GP10s because the motors make too much noise.
I'd like to know what others have used for motor brands and if they've been satisfied. Obviously, I want a quiet motor with good pull and hopefully a unit that is resistive to BEMF buzz.
A-Line sells Mashima motors and I've heard Kato motors are good, too. But I'm guessing there are other good choices out there. I'm interested in not only what brands but where to purchase as well.
smart control panel
Hi All,
It can be interesting for everyone, who trying to build small control panel and do not want to spent long time with wiring.
I created intelligent modules called TheCube. Those modules are designed for easy building of smart control panels. Especially for small size ones.
Little problem is, that I'm from Europe, then my design is primary for Lenz LpressNet and clones. As far as I remember, in US is more popular LocoNet.
For example 2 turnout control panel like this:

Double Track Bascule Bridge
Has anyone ever modified a Walthers bascule bridge to accommodate two tracks?
Walthers 933-3070 HO Motorized Bascule Bridge
Perhaps leave out the 'motorized' feature?
Or examples of some other double track bascule bridges in HO scale?
I thought I had seen an example, but can't remember where??

Track cleaning block for $1.25
In one of the other threads which was about track cleaning someone mentioned the "Sandflex Tool Cleaning" block. I purchased a fine grit one for $7.50 on Amazon and cut it into six pieces using a kitchen knife. The blocks work great for cleaning the track and only cost $1.25 each as opposed to a Bright Boy track cleaner which can cost $6.00 to almost $9.00 plus shipping. Here's a picture of my Sandflex cleaners:
