Make Walthers Bascule Bridge Dbl-stack Friendly

It's my understanding that the bascule bridge of Walthers is NOT dbl-stack friendly?

Anyone made modifications??

Gibbard Furniture

The cut down building is now roughly assembled. Have roof work to finish and signage to create. All the pictures I have seen of the prototype have a banner across the front with their name and incept date -- 1835. And a few have a corner roof sign. The windows have been filled in with images from the actual structure taken a couple of years ago on a sunny day. So the reflections are of what is actually across the street. An interesting structure now being torn apart for some developer condo fantasy.

impact of St Lawrence Seaway on railroads

The 1959 opening of the St Lawrence Seaway had a profound impact on railroads and communities in the USA and Canada. It reduced export traffic that formerly went by rail to Atlantic ports, significantly weakening rail carriers that served New York harbor, Baltimore and Philadelphia. This was a factor in the bankruptcies that led to Conrail. In Canada, it reduced rail traffic to the Maritimes.

Which way do I go?

My design is a double  main. The industry in question of on the eastward. Im trying to stay true to the prototype as much as possible. So here is the problem. The turnout is on the east side of the industry with a long lead that balloons back to the industry. I dont have the room to set the industry back that far. The diagram shows the correct orientation for the industry, but the turnout is on the wrong side. The track chart does show a nearby industry with an opposite side turnout. So not all turnouts face the same way.
