Operating a medium sized layout
G'Day,
I consider my HO scale 25 foot X 9 foot layout to be a medium sized layout.
What I consider the largest crew that the Kanunda & Emu Flat railway can handle is the following, two two man road crews, one person Kanunda yard master, one person Hostler (staging yard operator) and one person Controller (dispatcher), seven people. Even then it can become crowded when trains converge.
In the video attached we had a crew of five which results in a relaxed session.

The stone arch bridge completed!
I completed the scratch built stone arch brigde (viaduct). Here´s a photo from the final result:
Union Pacific Alco C-855 double diesel drawings
Does anyone know if scale drawings have been produced for the Union Pacific ALCO C-855 diesel locomotive and where they could be found. I've had no luck looking in the usual places.
I'm trying to collect/build each of the Union Pacific's double diesel engines and still have the C-855 to collect/build.
Finding a brass version is very difficult and go for stupid prices so may have to resort to scratch building/kitbashing.
Any help would be appreciated.

When I was making a coaling tower I posted the best photo that I had of the tower and asked for ideas.
Merging 3D bluffs with Photo Backdrop?
The Mississippi River bluffs surrounding Dubuque, Iowa, rise and recede simultaneously. I'm hoping to fashion narrow benchwork, so, is it possible to model 40ft-50ft of bluff height and use a photo backdrop to show the rest of the bluff height?
The question, I think, is can the two - modeled scenery and photo backdrop scenery - be merged to look seamless? Color matching will be key, but other issues, such as a flat backdrop with 3D scenery in front impossible to look good?
Thanks much,

DCC wire gauge
I'm getting organized to convert some of my older locos to DCC. I am looking for what wire gauge to use for Ho scale locos for all the internal wiring. Anyone have the answer in AWG?
Editor driving me nuts rotating images
Joe or moderators, I need your help. I just spent uploaded a bunch of photos into a post. Unfortunately, all of them needed rotating as they came from an iPhone. In most cases, when I rotated them, they would get truncated. If I reloaded them and rotated them, I eventually got them done, but it was a frustrating experience. Here are the steps I took.
