What saw to use?
Hi. I am doing some scratch HO buildings. I cut lumber on table saw and a bandsaw. I ask what I can cut out window holes etc. on 3/32 x 3/4 pine stock for insertion of plastic windows. A 1/16th hole at corners can do but where what can a model keyhole saw be found? Any suggestions appreci8ted. I am doing a coaling tower in HO as my test. Help.
similar vs. duplication?
I have been studying layout designs and am now pondering over a question. On the one hand there is the advice to only do a thing once on a layout, such as Joe's recommendation to have only one "blob". I think Charlie is following suit with his new "Peninsula in Progress". Thus I was really surprised when I saw that Lee's UCW has four blobs. I could see the need to get all the places he wanted onto the layout, but it seems to me that the cost is sacrificing the esthetic value of larger radii.

Making Interior Details of Buildings and offices
Over the past couple of weeks I have been reading a lot about Detailing your structures. I found a few major things you can add to the interiors of offices or homes that are within close visability of visitors.
These are very cheep to reproduice if you own a printer.

klitsa Koal
I've finally finished, for now, the work on my Klitsa Koal mine. The mine is scratchbuilt using wood I cut in my shop, parts from a plastic kit, balsa and tinfoil for the roofing. The bridge is a scratchbuilt copy of an actual bridge spanning a gorge on the Spokane Falls and Northern on a route that brought their line into southern British Columbia in the late 1890's. A photo of the bridge can be seen on page 22 of "The Kettle Valley and its Railways" by Hal Riegger.

Buildings with rolling stock access
Hi All-
I've been looking for some time for structures that have doors large enough for sufficient clearance for interior sidings. I am looking for structures suitable for a mid 1970's layout (an aged building would be fine, even preferred) in HO scale.
Rectifier
Need a diagram to built a rectifier circuit. Need to rectifive 18 volts ac to 18 volts dc. 2 amps.
What rating for the following:
Bridge rectifier
Electrolytic Capacitor
Voltage regulator
DC Power supply
Hello everyone, from Burton Ohio. My first post here, as I spend most of my time trying to absorb as much as I can from this forum and MRH. The things you guys have created are unfathomable to me, I am in awe of the detail and creativity..... My set up is not based on anything in particular. It's a 4X8 ho scale able to run two trains at a time. I named the businesses after my kids. (ie. Audrey's Cafe, sam's Pet store, etc) I thought this would keep my kids interested.

Little Gold House
I'm finishing up my latest wood structure kit - this one is by Mountaineer Precision Products (Kit #1) called "Historic Little Blue House - LaGrange, Kentucky". It's based on a real structure that is still standing in Kentucky. As you can see I didn't finish it in blue. I usually don't finish a structure in the same color as the kit shows and I prefer gold for this kit.
