Modeling topic

Answer to rfbranch
on the backs of the Caboose Industries package at least the 50 I have on the lowest section it says:
202S,206S AND 208S Sprung Stands Mount with Molded pin in .055 diameter hole (#54 drill) in turnout throwbar or with straight throw Rod link. Internal springs will take up the overtravel and maintain tension on the turnout points.
Hope this answers your question as I couldn't add a reply to your question there seems to be a problem from when Admin did something to update.

Installing Caboose Ground Throws
Hi all-
I am installing Caboose 202S ground throws on Atlas customline and Peco turnouts but the hole in the throwbar is too small for the connector for the ground throw to fit in. I know I could just bore away until I get a hole large enough for the two components to fit together but short of that I wondered if anyone knew the proper drill bit to use to enloarge the hole on the throwbar. It never hurts!
Thanks in advance for your help!

Esquimalt & Marshall Hill: track plan
Here is the track plan of the HO-scale layout I'm starting to build. I'm calling it the Esquimalt & Marshall Hill. Prototype is purely freelanced, but based on the geographic concept of linking Vancouver Island to the British Columbia interior (and beyond).

I was at the Hobby shop and over heard "Model Railroading Just Happens".
Last night there was a midnight sale at one of the hobby shops here in town and. There was a dozen or so in a group talking "O" Scale and one of the guys said Niel Young is half owner of Lionel and another said Model Railroading Just Happens which I thought he couldn't be more right But has anyone else heard anything about Niel Young buying Lionel or is it just Old news I missed out on?

Off The Shelf Track Compatibility
Time to lay some track. After reading through the forums and a few trial runs, I've decided to use Atlas code 83 flex and Walthers code 83 turnouts. It will be my first room sized layout and I feel these are good choices for my budget and free time.
But before I place my order, I still have a few questions: Can I neglect the difference in tie sizes between the Atlas flex and Walthers turnouts and is there a compatible low profile rail joiner for these products?

Ghost River Update
Well folks, things have been busy around the Ghost River these last few months and I figured it was time for an update. Lighting is much imnproved, but not perfect and scenes are coming together. Lots of rolling stock has been purchased as well as severl engines. No trains are running as it's difficult to manage them and the camera at the same time.
Still tons of work to do and decisions to be made. Hope you enjoy.

Salem Filters - DP 6203
Guys,
Stan sent me comparison images of our Salem Filters (DP 6203) next to a comparible detail product. The filters we sell are cored for wire as shown and combine injection moulded parts with photo-etched brackets.
Clean Air Room Bases
Guys,
Here are T1 sample images from our clean air room bases. MK 5000 or MK 5001.
The MK 5000 will work with the GP35, GP38, GP39, GP40, GP38-2, GP39-2, GP40-2, GP50 and GP15-1.
The MK 5001 does the SD38, SD39, SD40, SD45, SD38-2, SD40-2, and SD45-2.
How this system works is you take the correct base and add our clean air room sides which are multi-layer photo-etched which will give you the match for your prototypes weld lines and drain holes.

Developing Penn Lake's Locomotive Roster (pictures repaired)
At first my Penn Lake Railway, didn't have locomotives of it's own, using it's parents' power. At the time, I didn't want to piece the lettering together from alphabet sets, or go throught the cost of custom decals. Then, I stumbled onto Champ's (moment of silence please ) private name sets, which allowed me to easily create Penn Lake lettering.
