CN Alco/MLW C630M or M630 Prototype Photos

Hey Folks,

I'm looking for some prototype photos of a CN Alco C630M or MLW M630, with the CN Zebra Stipes, the dirtier the better.

I've been requisitioned to weather the new Bowser HO unit for a customer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

General boxcar/reefer dimensions (1920-1940)

I model generally steam (Southern Pacific) in the 1920's with some "slop-over" into the 1930's.  I am a TT scale modeler (1:120) which means I have to scratch build just about everything except trucks and couplers (Micro Trains "N").

I should know this stuff but I get varying information depending upon the source I'm looking at any given time.

N scale Steam: ESU LokSound Select Micro experience?

Hi to all,
recently I've noted that this sound decoder is listed on several shops

( http://www.litchfieldstation.com/xcart/product.php?productid=999003485&c... for example )

HO Scale Archbar Trucks w/ Wood Bolsters?

Probably a dumb question, but does anyone manufacture a HO scale arch-bar truck with wood bolsters? (Not HOn3 blush)

MRC Sounder Decoders #1908 & #1909?

DCC modelers,

MRC has introduced new sounder decoders. The steam is #1908, and the diesel is #1909.

Has any body installed and ran either of these for any length of time? If so what were the negative and positive results?

My only experience with MRC decoders was with a friends set of Genesis engines. The experience was not all positive. We shipped one back for a defective decoder. I hope the newer units will have a better track record than the older decoders.

Small coaling facility

I've been reading and posting the odd comment for over a year now, so it's probably time to start a blog of my own.  I've just put together a small coaling facility.  It's a bit out of the ordinary, so I thought it might be of interest.

Woodland Scenics Tidy Track

As I was down in the basement doing some routine maintenance and track cleaning, I kept thinking about the new Woodland Scenics Tidy Track system.  I know that the Tidy Track system was just released, but I was wondering  what everyones thoughts were about it?  It seems reasonably priced and seems that it might be worth looking into!

Anyone used or built a LocoIO?

Hello all,

I have seen the web page for the LocoIO kits, and am very interested in building some for use on my layout.

Has anyone had any experience with these? Also, where can the kits be purchased?

From the looks of the schematic, I could get most of the parts to build one, except that I have no way of programming the PIC, or etching the board.

Thanks,

Andrew
