Decals on steam locomotives
Hi All,
I bought a BLI undecorated steam locomotive and put the microscale Santa Fe decals on the tender but it seems to have lifted and is not black like the rest of the tender.
If I remove the decals what can I do to help them blend on the tender better? Spray it in high gloss then put on the decals then cover in a dull cote? Is there a special trick for black locomotives or surfaces?

And one step backwards
Last week was an educational one -- unpacked a couple of cars from my Canadian and ran them around the track. These are long passenger cars with a lot of fittings underneath and diaphragms -- quite unlike the doddlebug passenger car and old heavyweight that I have been using for track testing. As I expected, found a bunch of problems on the upper level -- one somewhat expected and a couple that were not. The expected problem was really an assembly issue -- built a section of bridge track and the ends stuck up just enough to drag on the underside of the car.
A MicroController Controlled Point to Point Trolley Layout
A MicroController Controlled Point to Point Trolley Layout
I am working on adding computer control to my little point to point trolley layout. The controller is the Ardunio UNO MicroController board. I have it all worked out for connectivity and just finished bench testing the components and the program. It is going to work!

An Alternative to DCC and Traditional DC control
I have a little point to point trolley layout that is DC powered. I used the Bachmann power pak until I found the Crest POWER PAK ADAPTER:
Help needed for Branchline HW pulmann kit
Hi all,
This is my first rolling stock kit. As you can see the roof doesn't sit flat on the body.
I would prefer not to glue it. What can I do ?
I have already learned a lot from this forum, and I have started finishing the layout room (about 30'x9') and in the meantime I start building some kits.
Thanks a lot.
Gerard.
P.S. I apologize for the bad picture, a lot of progress to make with model photography....

'46 Flatbed
One of the things I brought back this summer was a 1946 Chevy Flatbed (HO). I wanted a truck this size, mostly for the lumberyard scene I have planned.
Right from the box, it's a great model (the mirrors are not mounted), but totally plastic and shiny, and the bed's a problem.
and with cab removed.
Installing decoders in N steam loco's
I have been looking at starting to install decoders in my steam stock and have been wondering about input, ideas and guidesfor stqrting this process I have not seen a lot of guidance on actually putting them in but am getting an idea. my main queswtion is about a bachmann 4-8-4 that is not dcc ready and have been consideringplacing the pc boards for the spectrum series 4-8-2 in the 4-8-4, and upgrading the lesser loco as much as poss look forward to input, and any thing to watch for thanks all
Parts swapping
My first attempt at online questions. I have several Rivarossi 2-8-4 Berkshires, and was looking at the Bachmann 2-8-4 as a parts supply. Does anyone have a Bachmann 2-8-4 that can measure the boiler front diameter carefully? I would like to use one for a Rivarossi replacement. The Rivarossi number boards are really rare to find. Thank you.
Floral foam
Does anyone know of a place that sells floral foam at a reasonable price and quantity? I am looking for some to use on scenery but am not having much luck finding it in any sort of quantity.
