Has anyone else had this happen with Scenic Express products?
Please notice in the photo that certain trees have turned pinkish, despite the fact that the scenery material is not very old. Is there any way to prevent this? The product I used was Scenic Express' "Autumn Glory blend". The Woodland Scenics fall colors have kept their nature-like colors.

Grab Irons for Walthers Gondola Kit - Make or Buy?
I found a Walthers P2K Drop End Mill Gondola kit at the shop today for $10 and decided to give it a try. Come to find out that it's missing the grab irons. I've never done any of the more detailed kits like this, and ironically this would have been my first attempt at installing grab irons.
Can they be found pre-bent somewhere, or do I need to learn how to do it myself sooner than I wanted to?

Painting Turnouts
Fellow MRH Readers,
I make all my turnouts using Fasttracks turnout jigs. Instead of gluing the ties to the bottom of the rails however as FastTracks suggests, I glue my turnout ties to a sheet of paper. That lets me place my ties on the cork roadbed, then locate the completed switch over the ties, which is held down then with Walthers code 83 spikes through the ties. This system works great. The turnouts are somewhat free floating, and removable if I need to replace or repair them later on.

Title Conflict and Shelf-work
I have an umbedingt crisis on my hands! I love my acronym WIHLA for my railroad title, but on my blog I have given it the name, "Switzerland in a Cube". Not as mysterious, but a little more descriptive (although What I Had Lying Around is actually quite descriptive).
I should also mention, that I have finished my post about my benchshelf-work. Check it out here.

Off Layout Car Storage
Am looking for ideas to store freight cars off layout.
I'm planing on having a rolling cabinet with drawers or shelves for storing the cars. Any ideas some of you have
used, either laying flat or standing upright ?
