HO Scale Pilot Mounted Ditch Lights
I've been scouring the web for different sources, but have not had much luck. I had a set of the pilot mounted ditch lights from Details Associates, at least I believe they were. These are just the housings for the front of the pilot not the top of the walkway version. I'm using them for EMD installations on Wisconsin Central units as seen here:

Has anyone had any luck finding these or a suitable replacement from a different MFG?

Scaletrains Evans 5100 RBL Double 8' Plug Door Boxcar review
NOTE: This is an unsolicited personal review by me - NOT requested by Scaletrains or any other person or company
After watching the videos on Trainmaster TV about the new company Scaletrains I decided that I wanted to support them by purchasing one of their boxcars. I have more than enough rolling stock for my small layout; however, I really like what i saw about the company - especially the guys involved with the company.
Rapido LRC consisting challenge: lights & sound
I hope someone more experienced in DCC can help me out with this! I'm the proud owner of two Rapido Trains LRC locomotives and a string of LRC coaches.
I'd like to set them up as “pull-pull” locomotives, one on each end of the train, to use at Fremo meets (our Fremo group uses a Digitrax system).
Key-driven Mechanical Switch Machine
As I planned my version of CN's Pine Street spur, I started thinking about how I wanted to throw the turnouts. I definitely wanted to avoid just pressing a button to throw a switch, hoping that I could find something closer to what is done on the prototype. There are many mechanical switch machines out there, but I wasn't quite satisfied with the type of actuator that they require, namely pushing/pulling on some type of knob that is mounted against the fascia and in most instances connected via a music wire to the switch machine.

Simple mod - Walthers turnouts for DCC
Modifying a Walthers turnout is much easier than my description. It took about 15 minutes for the whole thing. You probably notice the notched ties in the images. This is acceptable to me after I trim the plastic bits and weather the throw bars.
Whatever the method, the major changes are:
- insulate the points from each other and attach them to the throwbar.
- Insulate the points from the frog

Walthers C83 Bulk Rail - Still being sold?
Hi,
I will need to re-supply soon and I can't find any place on the web that has any listed in stock. Has anyone heard if Walthers is still making it? Have sent them an email asking the same question.
Brian
