Hi all. I have a space that is 16 feet long and have a family right-of-way to have one leg come down 6 feet on one side.

Operating session
The towns on the Kanunda & Emu Flat railway are imagined to be somewhere in South Australia on the line between Adelaide and Melbourne in the early 1980s when Australian National and V / Line trains ran through between both cities.
railroad-owned highway trailers of the 1950s
In the mid and late 1950s, many railroads purchased small fleets of highway trailers for Trailer of Flat Car (TOFC) service (also called piggyback.) Initially, many were 36 or 38' long. Later, 40-foot trailers became common. Photos of these are not common. Here's a place to share some photos and rosters.

The Mud Bay & Western
I am finally embarking on my layout project. I am going to use this blog to track the build. I am new to MRH and to blogging so we'll see how this goes. Hope you enjoy it!
Introduction to the Mud Bay & Western
The MB&W is a fictional branch line set in the Puget Sound region in the late 60’s. The design goal is to maximize operation potential in the space available. It is a two-level, operation centric, N scale railroad that uses some less common (I think) techniques in its construction.
Parting out my collection
As much as I love model railroading, op's sessions, the forums etc and everything that comes with it... this is taking up too much of my time. I am struggling to keep up with the everyday basics of cleaning and cooking and maintaining my home, so something has to give. I will be getting rid of my collection.
Below is a list of what's available. Serious inquiries only, and please don't insult me with low offers. Please be paypal ready.
Thanks for reading and understanding...

Prototype Photographs 2020
Hi All,
Went to see some trains today with my camera. Found a couple scenes that you might enjoy looking at.
In the spirit of the holidays I'd like to share them with You.
Hope the ensuing year is Happy, Healthful and Prosperous for you.
I’m looking forward to see your prototype photos too again this year.
Rusty roof with oils and acrylics - where did I see that video?! FOUND IT!
I "recently" saw a video where a guy used oil paint on the top of a boxcar then later came back and "filled" in with acrylic paint. The rust effect was incredible but dang it I don't know where I saw it!
I've searched my YouTube history and searched via MRH.
Does the technique strike a chord with anyone?!
TIA, Chuck

Designing a better runaround & what is a Tail Track
First Question:
I'm looking for the proper word/name/whatever one would use to describe these two dead-end track spurs that my long locos would go to prior to their backing down thru that dbl-slip turnout to escape that end of the peninsula? Is there a particular name would utilize in 'switching parlance??
The Strasburg Railroad is expanding. They received a grant to build a freight transload facility next to the interchange.
The location is right next to route 30. This will mostly separate the freight service from the tourist operations. https://www.pennlive.com/life/2019/12/strasburg-rail-road-company-awarded-17-million-grant-millions-of-dollars-awarded-to-26-rail-freight-projects.html
