Modeling topic
Decisions, decisions... UPDATED!
I'm writing this because it helps me ( so I'm hoping) and I'd like to get some other opinions on this matter.
Building plan eBook size
I am wondering how large the 2 structure ebooks PDF files are. I currently have no house internet and I use my phone for web access. I would like to take advantage of the special price for both ebooks but need to make sure I can download to my phone so I can then transfer them to my computer. Any help in this is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys
NMRA Contests?
So it had previously been suggested to myself that I enter some of my photos into the photo contests at an NMRA convention. It happens that I'll be going to the Mid-East Region convention in October with the Free-mo layout there. My question is this? Are NMRA contests as rooted in the steam age as the photo contest rules appear to be? For example the three categories for photos are steam, non-steam and model. And I noticed and Arts & Crafts entries too. All my photographs are of diesels or electrics. My models too aren't steam.
A Short-line in O Scale (4' 8.5")
BLOG started July 2015, as a planning and building BLOG for an O scale short-line.

Layout Update: July 2015 - Main/Third Level DCC Testing Results
I finally completed the wiring for the 4th power district on the main level/third level. This is the track that runs from Michaelson Jct. (aka Ottawa Jct., KS) both to the West Helix and on the branch line that runs over the top of the West Helix to the third level that has the cities of Michaelson (aka Ottawa, KS) and then to Elizabeth City, OK (aka Tulsa, OK).

Great Working Homemade Track Cleaning Car
I was trying to come up with a good track cleaning design and here it is. It uses a freight car (boxcar or tall covered ones best), a cleaning cloth, small piece of wood or similar and nails/screws. To use it you simply wet the pad with your preferred cleaner and off you go and it can easily be added to a train.
Building:(Sorry no photos) To start out you find a good sized base and drill holes in your car base to line up with that. Through those holes you place screws and into the wood. Mounting the cloth can be done in many ways and two are shown.

The Big Scene Getting Close
Something barrow and something blue, well do not know about the blue part but we have the borrowed part covered. Thanks to Lee in Bellavista AR. Lee took down his layout. I got the trestle. Two pictures his and mine.
Now to modify and install.
Molex connector pins question
I know the pins are squeezed shut over the wire before inserting the pin into the connector, Should it also be soldered?
Lower level is "complete"... sort of
The main trackwork at the smelter is completed. I took advantage of a much needed rainy weekend. Usually we are drowning here in BC, but it has been bone dry for the past couple of months and the water reservoirs are starting to get a bit low. My lawn and garden are particularly glad to get the moisture.
NCE PowerCab wire question
The track wires the are screwed into the little connector on the powercab connection panel - what is the largest size wire that can be used?
