New Haven Power on the Bourbon River Sub (pictures repaired)
New Haven power often shows up on the Penn Lake Railway...
My latest project is New Haven RS11 #1402. This isn't a completely accurate job, as I used an EMD steam generator set, I had on hand, instead of an Alco set. The funky Hancock air horns sold me on the project. I may do something different with the black bell as it currently disappears.
Question regarding my Walthers "Chief" pasenger cars.
I have several of the older passenger cars that represent the Chief. I have noticed that they seem to have trouble rolling free. What is the best way to deal with the problem?
Symtoms include.... Squeeking, tightness in the bearings... actually that is about it.
Just thought I would pose the problem to the experts.

Animation
Thought some of you might enjoy these animations. How people came up with these ideas amazes me.

Progress report on Genesis DDA40X (with photos)
Click photos for larger versions
Here is an early look at preliminary test samples of the new HO scale EMD DDA40X under development by Athearn. The toolmakers still have some final work to do on this monster (more than 14-inches long) but the final version promises to be an impressive and powerful model.
Dick Bronsons DCC uncoupler
I am experimenting with Dick Bronsons DCC uncoupler that he describes on the website at rr-cirkits.com
Its a really good design and I will share my thoughts on it here. First off I made a video of my progress so far.
Bachmann steam engine (ho) fireman side crank
The fireman side valve gear crank leans towards the cab, when it should lean to the front when the rods are down. Has any one been able to fix this? These engines look and run great, but this detail ruins a great loco.
