Locos - Rolling stock (general)

Ten Years Later & I Work On Rolling Stock

To All: Some rolling stock projects of mine were started years ago! I have since finished them

or added details, such as underframe brake lines and components, brake hoses

(I cut off the Kadee ones), install #58 Kadee couplers, semi-detail locomotives and

weather them or add details to buildings, or repair them.

The Trouble with having an interesting hobby...

Besides fiddling with my airbrush project, Free.Mo.N module, and Inglenook Sidings mini layout, I also enjoy participating and listening to Model Rail Radio (www.modelrailradio.com).  One of the topic that came up during the night was the reluctance, or possibly lack of skills in the current "ready-to-run" model railroaders.  I have heard this same sentiment echoed on other podcasts, forums, and even some magazines.

CN RSC-24 Alco diesel

Found this while surfing. Interesting locomotive. Anybody got more information on this. I'd like to see if I can scratch-bash one of these.

Rock of Ages 0-6-2t

For my layout, the major local quarry (Rock of Ages) owned and used a number of small steam locomotives. Some of these were tank engines, including a pair of 0-6-2s from Baldwin that were sold to the quarry by the Barre and Chelsea railway in 1948 and 1952.

The following two images are not mine, and are used without permission.

Central Vermont 3901

The Central Vermont Railway only had two RS-3s, and only had those for a couple of years before they were transferred to its sister the Grand Trunk.

I love the lines on the RS-3, and even though it's a bit of a squeeze in my timeline,  I had purchased one when I first started in the hobby in 2008. I installed my first sound decoder in it, and than proceeded to immediately plunge it to its death; off the layout and onto a concrete floor.

Need help with two LifeLike Geeps (GP7 and GP30) with different issues.

I have recently acquired two Life Like Geeps. One is a GP7 Phase II that was new in box. The other is a GP30 that was lightly used. My goal was to add DCC to both and consider sound for both. I got 2 Digitrax DH165LO  decoders as plug in replacements for the factory light boards. Worked fine in the GP7, but no lights in the GP30.
