A Bona Vista Boxcar
To All: Gary Leone is a well known model railroader. He recently dismantled his layout and in now building a new one. I painted, lettered, weathered and dull coated this Athearn 40 foot boxcar for Gary's Bona Vista RR. Herald art work was drawn by me (I wish I had made it larger). Yours, Elvin Howland/E. weathering a athearn heavy flat car
What would be the best way to weather a black heavy flat car with a plastic metal deck?
Kansas Pacific Boxcar
To All: One of the neatest freelanced lines I have done is Anthony Lorch's Kansas Pacific RR. I painted, lettered, weathered and dull coated this 40 foot Athearn car. Decals are available from Highball Graphics. Yours, Elvin Howland/E. St. Louis Rail Group Layout
Pudding River Lumber Company
Thought I would post some On30 Modular layout work to see if it sparks any interest or comment. The Pudding River Lumber Company is modular "layout" that is regularly connected to other modules in the California South Coast Modular On30 Group. We display at train shows around Southern California and were a part of the NNGC Convention in 2013.
Proto 2000 factory railings and grab irons glued?
I have a Proto 2000 tan-box era (maybe '97) GP-18 that I am considering repainting. Does anyone know if the railings and grab irons were glued in or just press fitted? I am guessing they are just held in by friction but was hoping to benefit from someone else's experience before I try yanking on them.
TTX Yellow
I am looking for a good match for TTX yellow. I read that the PollyScale was a little too dull to match it well. Microscale has a handy Floquil cross reference but again, their TTX yellow looks too pale. I am wondering if Model Master Insignia Yellow or Chrome Yellow would be a better match. Has anyone experience with TTX yellow, other than the old Floquil or Polly Scale offerings?
