PS-2 Covered Hopper Demonstrator
To All: Thanks to Ricky Rupp of Modern Rails Company I was able to letter this Pullman-Standard PS-2 Covered Hopper Demonstrator. I painted and applied the decals to a Walthers Trainline car.The prototype car toured the railroads for many years as a sales tool. Here we see the demo passing Nameoki/Danville Yard on the layout. Undercarriage for 36' wood reefers
Hi there,
This is my first post on this forum. I am a newbie from South Africa. Only started getting interested in the hobby at around this time last year. That is also about how long I have been subscribed to MRH, but I am still so overwhelmed by the skill and expertise of people on here, that I felt too intimidated to post something.
Graham Farish N Scale containers
Are the Graham Farish N Scale containers compatible with the Kato n scale well cars? if not how much fudging will it take?
Brass vs. Plastic
Years ago the disparity in prices between brass and plastic loco's was always pretty large. Given that prices on the high end plastic stuff have risen dramatically over the years, that price difference has shrunk quite a bit in some cases. For example, I recently came across a brass Overland Models' GP-15 with DCC in UP colors for $345 at Caboose Hobbies in Denver.
I was always taught that the only stupid question is the one that wasn't asked. So, not having any experience with brass myself, I thought I'd ask the experts here:
Freight car America Dynastack
Came across this new intermodal car. Was wondering if anyone has seen it in service yet. Looks like TTX has some.
Dimensions of Alco Cab in HO Scale needed
I'm working on some decals for an FRV RDS15 but I don't have shell to scale the photos to.
Can anybody tell me these 2 dimensions from an HO Scale Cab?
- Height to under edge of roof (flat portion of cab)
- With of cab side (most important)
Thanks!

More C&S Modeling
Lincoln Pinn returns to the C&Sn3 with a report about his recent visit to Billings Montana. He describes the modeling of C&S coal and cinder cars being done in that fine town.
You can read about it here: http://coloradosouthern.blogspot.com/
Enjoy if you visit, Darel
An extraordinary load!
Some weeks ago a picture was shown here ...
... a really impressive and heavy load!
It was a very fascinating load for me and so I hoped to find solutions for all needed things and techniques for modeling, load including car.
My O scale (2 rail) crane
I'm almost finished with this model! It started life as a MTH 3 rail toy crane. I converted it to 2 rail and added a S-Cab R/C system to control a Stanton drive. The S-Cab radio is mated to a Tsunami sound decoder and powered by a LiPo battery. The tender car is a modified Intermountain composite gondola detailed with all of the gear used by a crane. I have a blow by blow blog going on the A&O Railroad website:
