Research Help For Planning A Railroad

All,

Looking for some help on a design project.

Right now the base information I am looking would be mid 1990s CN diesel rosters, and what power was CN shedding during that time period?

1995ish is what I am looking at.

Thanks,

Bob

Scenery Progress

Some more scenery completed, light posts installed. For depth perception for some of the trees I have shaved off half of the foliage. This allows me to place them directly against the back wall.
The pencils stabilize the trees until the glue is fully set.

WIP Update.

Started laying some of the scenery over the weekend. Intermodal scene is beginning to blend into my Trenton Subdivision in N Scale. Tracks are ballasted with some low growing weeds starting to creep on the edges of the right of way. Oily-black weathering powder along the tracks, heavier between the rails.

How do you transition a road that suddenly ends at the edge of the layout?

I have been putting quite a bit of thought into the edge of my layout and how to not have “my miniature world” just come to an end.

OSCR - new location..up against the wall

So we'ved moved again... back to Toronto. For my Toronto friends up here please get in touch. So this is the Ontario South Central's 4th location but it just won't work in the current living arrangement. It doesn't mean i'm demoloting it though. Here it is leaning up against the wall behind the guitar amp. (The OSCR has always shared a space with a recording 'work station' studio).

Looking for an MR track plan from many, many years ago

Many, many, many years ago MR magazine had an N scale track plan based on the Green Mountain Ry in Vermont. By chance would anyone have a scan of this you would be willing to share. It does not appear to be available on the MR website.

Thanks in advance,

Bill

Need layout design input...

Would like some feedback on a 4'x10' island type layout I come in possession of a lot of Kato unitrack so I will utilize that. I would have liked to built around the walls layout but could not. My 9 year old son will be helping so using kato unitrack will be good.. but will later be weathered and ballasting. We will have some small operating sessions with basic train movements (just introduction for him) anyway here goes..
