Layout design

Trestle bents for module legs?

I'm just curious, has anyone tried making trestle bents (or some other railroad themed design, perhaps) for use as legs for a modular layout?  I had this idea the other day, and I think it would look neat, but maybe it's impractical..

Track plan problems

After many weeks doodling designs on a pad I am no closer to solving some issues with my half built layout.  So I was hoping the brains trust here mind be kind enough to offer some suggestions.

A number of years ago I started the process of designing and building my layout. The design, a simple folded dogbone, with a couple of small stations and the ability to extend later.  The space was a single car garage.

Shelf layout with crossing and interlocking

I am ready to start on a new layout and have about a 12 foot bedroom wall I can use for a shelf layout. Now, I already know of most of the online sites that have good examples for these, but can't seem to find anything suitable for my particular needs. First, I am a retired railroader and enjoy switching, but I also have had a lifelong interest in signals, interlocking, etc., etc.

TEAR DOWN #3

GETTING IT DONE...I STARTED THIS  ABOUT 6AM YESTERDAY MORNING I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON IT FOR ABOUT 4 HOURS UP TO THIS POINT. STILL HAVE A BUNCH MORE TO DO & I NEED TO GET IT DONE BY TOMORROW NIGHT. I AM GOING IN FOR MINOR HAND SURGERY ON TUESDAY
THE 2 PAINT SWATCHES I SHOWED AT THE OPEN NING OF THIS VID CAN BE FOUND AT LOWES. IT'S THEIR "VALSPAR BRAND" I THINK THAT THE TEXTURE IS GOING TO BE THE RIGHT SIZE FOR MY "N" SCALE STRUCTURES TO BE ADDED TO THE EXISTING WALLS TO CREATE A STUCCO EFFECT. I TOOK A BUNCH OF EACH COLOR.

Finally finished my N scale 4x8 layout!

The layout is all Kato unitrack and has provisions for an entry and exit from the layout for operational staging.

My staging/storage yard

I need some help and ideas on configuring my storage yard. I was looking at off-layout storage for my rolling stock, but decided to add a drop down gate to cross the doorway to a 90" x 18" yard.
The following is a trial of using scarm and trying to layout as some sort of a yard to hold my equipment.  I will be using a #6 fast tracks jig for the turnouts. This is in HO scale. Oh ya, I don't have a clue about this yard business.
