What they're saying about us on other model railroading forums

I don't know how many of you read what they're saying about MRH and this web site on other forums, but we (the MRH staff) do read most of those other forums and posts.

One negative I'm seeing is that we can sometimes be brutal to newcomers or modelers who post some of their hobby work on here.

Modeling Flat Car Loads-Tractors/Construction Equipment (HO Scale)

I am modeling the midwest (KCS Kansas City Area) in the early 1980s.  I have several 60' MDC flat cars (HO scale) which I would like to add farm equipment or construction equipment as loads.  I subscribe to the "Good Enough" philosophy, so I would prefer modifying toys such as those found at Walmart, rather than spend $30-$60  a piece for scale models.  I have found some nice near HO scale 1/87 toys of both farm tractors and construction equipment, however I don't know what models would be appropriate for my era.  I don't want a flat car running on my

Another suggestion for MRH magazine

On forums, it would be nice to be able to choose how we sort all the posts- either oldest to newest posts or newest to oldest posts.

Thank you,

Al

Do we need the original post on every page of a long forum thread?

When the forum thread goes beyond 1 page why do we need the original post on every subsequent page? Seems like a page hog to me, especially when the  original post has lots of pictures.

Thanks,

Al

Great Hobby Resource

I just stumbled on to a great site called Trainlife.com. I was looking for info on 1st generation piggyback and this data was in Model Railroading back in the 80s or early 90s. I went to the MRG website and they mentioned that a new back issue had been posted to the Trainlife site. Although I have only barely scratched the surface of what is available, it looks like MANY issues of MANY magazines are available in web format.

I don't recall seeing any info about this site before did I just miss it?

Will MRH be coming South to the World's Greatest Hobby show in Atlanta Feb 12 & 13th?

Will you guys from MRH be coming to the World's Greatest Hobby show in Atlanta Feb 12th & 13th?  I understand that the last time it was in town they had around 30,000 people attend.  Click on the link and be sure to scroll down to see the exhibitors - there are some big names that will be there!

If you want some extra motivation, I'll be there!

Lots of updates to the web site in Recent Posts

You will be seeing lots of updates to the web site in Recent Posts - it's just us making changes to deal with our new monthly status and some upgrades on form submissions.

It's the forerunner to the coming web site upgrade ... still no exact date yet on that. Let's just say soon - real soon (like less than 4 weeks).
