Train shops in LA

Any recommendations for good train shops in LA (other than those listed on the MRH site)? With the weather here, I may have some more free time than planned.

Thanks!

MRH readers do click

I thought Joe, Jeff and others at MRH would like to know what they effects their readers. Maybe potential advertisers might want to take note.

On December 1st I released the gold version of Easy Model Railroad Inventory to the world via freeware and shareware sites. That is the cheapest and simplist way to try to announce software versions.

I posted the news of the release of our freeware for the Easy Model Railroad Inventory here on 12/4. Posted the same text message to the MR Forum on 12/7.

Grumpy Hobo Al says:

Please don't put the Monthly Newsletter (with all the new product info) onto the Recent Posts screen because it "pushes" down all the "real" posts.

I certainly enjoy reading the Monthly Newlsetter, just not on the Recent Posts screen.

Thanks for your consideration,

Al

Model Railroad Software Freeware

I released the gold version of a program I wrote to inventory model railroad equipment including cars, locomotives, structures, electonics and all the books from your library . Easy Model Railroad Inventory is freeware and can be downloaded to your computer. The program has been in development for a year and a half and in beta for a year. Some members of the Tidwater Divsion of the NMRA plus others participated in the beta testing group. I will not repeat the contents of the web site here.

Timestamps on Main Blog screen

Just a minor quibble:

Unless I'm missing something (which happens more often than not), I don't see timestamps on our Main Blog screen (http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/blog). It's only when you open the blog that you see timestamps.

I would humbly suggest that we be able to see timestamps on the main screen too.

Thanks,

Al

Wharf

Here is the latest on my O/On30 layout. A Liberty Sip arrived at my wharf last week. It was scratchbuilt by a good friend of mine, Jerry Diaz. The ship is 53" long dy 24" high.  The second photo is a view from the wharf side. This layout is on a 12 x 10 ft bedroom. On the standard 2 rail gauge I run a 44 Tonner and a Dockside with 40 footers rolling stock. On the On30 I run center cab diesels and 0-6-0.

Giving Thanks

Giving thanks to Joe and his wonderful crew and all your families, for all that you do for us modellers. Have a great day! John Colley, Port Townsend, WA

Prototype sidings

Here are some pictures I took at a local warehouse siding that show the height difference between the main line and the spur on a 200' distance between main and spur.. Notice also the "ballast" on the latter!.

prodigy with n-scale?

I'm switching from ho scale to n scale and I'm wondering if my MRC Prodigy system will work in n scale? I really like it and hope it works.

                    Thanks,
