Training and Errors...switching with inexperienced Conductors
Today was the first day that I used my Madras Oregon Switching Layout for a training session of New Hire Conductors. The layout is far from finished, aren't all layouts? but the track all works and I got the switch controllers operational. Other then a little dirty track, which I had forgotten to clean, and a switch that needed some adjustment, the layout ran really well.

Guys / gals,
Where to Get 2" Foamboard"
I live the the San Francisco Bay area, I used to be able to buy 1 or 2 inch thick pink or blue foam board locally at Home Depot or Lowes. No longer carried. Does anyone know a local source??

Google custom site search now fully integrated
The Google custom site search for the MRH site has now been fully integrated into the site. You no longer will go off to a separate search form on Google - everything takes place on the MRH site now!

Local club section?
Am I not finding it on the discussion fourm?
I was thinking it might be nice to have a section dedicated to local clubs. We have so many yet they often are hard to find. I would like to offer up a suggestion of having a section simply dedicated to clubs and possible to have it set up fairly simple with notes on said clubs location, hours of operation, website info etc... This might help both the clubs and hobby grow?
Is there a section or am I blind? Thoughts?

Is your train website or blog mobile friendly?
Today, Google announced an algorithm change that demotes non-mobile friendly websites in search results when queried from a mobile device. Mobile devices represent a huge amount of traffic on the web so you might want to mobile friendly up your blog or web page if it isn't already.
Google offers a tool to see if the change will affect your site: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/

End of Spur Track Question
Took a few photos of the small Greenfield Ethanol plant in Johnstown, ON on the weekend and noticed an interesting arrangement of ballast and wood crossing at the end of the spur for corn unloading. Is the ballast there to slow down any stray covered hoppers before they hit the bumper? What might the wood crossing be for; the track mobile to get on/off the rails?
Here's a photo showing the end of the spur in relation to the rest of the plant.

Posting pictures
Tried posting a picture sometime ago and found the way most do it using photo bucket does not work.

MRH store impression
I just purchased your Early Wood Frame and Stone Structure plans. It looks like a good book and excellent value, but I have some gripes about the store purchase page.
