How do we promote the hobby better in the 21st century?
Model Railroading is skewed towards both the male gender and the >40 age groups.
This simply is. It's a product of the interests of people, and their economic realities.
Instead of crying about the dearth of young people in the hobby, and how it's going to be the death of the hobby, let's do something positive:

January issue MRH and RE release update
Just an update on *when* the January MRH and Running Extra will be released.
Jan MRH: Should be released Friday night, Dec 28.
Jan RE: Should be released Saturday night, Dec 29.
We actually took Christmas off, which delayed everything by one day. Hopefully with no big holidays in January, the Feb issue release should be closer to normal again.

World's Greatest Hobby Show at the Schaumburg Convention Center January 5 & 6, 2019????
Will MRH be represented? Since it is in my neighborhood, would definitely increase my desire to attend if I thought I could meet someone from the magazine.
(Note, corrected title to reflect true name, but it IS a train show but more for new entrants to the hobby)
Rail fans/modelers what gives
Only been a member a short time now but I am amazed on how threads that are not really about the basics of modeling get some much feedback and yet posts on amazing models, work, etc get a reply or two. Seems like the masses are just waiting around for something to become extremely opinionated about and critical on.
And I really love how the common comment is '' well thats not what I would model, or thats not really what I like" before you can say something nice about anything.
Image server question
Did changing my screen name mess up my access to the image server? My old pictures seem to have disappeared from the list. It's now blank.

A lot of negativity can easily be found, and it is the time of year when we should attempt to be a little more neighborly in our physical and online neighborhoods...
I wanted to start a positive thread..... Its quite simple, tell us one thing you enjoy about the MRH forum, or magazine, or TMTV....
I only ask one thing, just post a positive comment and do not critique or counter what anybody else has to say.
Feeder Placement?
Hi all,
I'm considering soldering my track feeders to the bottom of my track. I will be soldering on the workbench and taking the track to the layout for installation, is there any opinions or issues about using the base of the rail for the feeder placement?
