Locos and rolling stock
Anything new with the prototype?. . .
It seems like (at least to me) we have entered a very uninteresting time of railroading. What I mean is this; here in Southern California, most "real"/prototype trains consist of several GE units with the occasional EMD unit up front, followed by a long string of cars and cars of intermodal double stacks with the occasional DPU unit at the end. That's about it. Main lines are slowly being converted to concrete ties (a good thing) and the old target signals are being replaced with the new "traffic signal" style (3 light) signals.

Looking for Loco colors
OK, I'm trying to find out what the actual blue color is that was on the Texas & Pacific F3 and F7 loco's. I'm also looking for the red that was on the Frisco/KATY Texas Special. I beleive it was also the same red that the KATY line used in general.
Thanks for any advice.
Need the Proper Paint Scheme for a CPR Box Car in 1955
The amount of knowledge floating around in these chat rooms is astonishing! Can someone tell me what paint/lettering scheme Canadian Pacific was using on their 40' Boxcars in 1955 and before? I've got a couple of undecorated 40' steel cars and I want to make sure I use the right colour and lettering.
I know the CP Pacman was later - but what was being used? The three words stacked in block letters? The Script lettering? And should I be using an Oxide Red or a Tuscan Red?

Help to open a brass tender
Hi all,
today I come back home with the idea to finally fit a Tsunami 750 inside my two N scale brass Mikes but.... surprise !
I've done some other brass in the past, but it's the first time I found the tender nearly sealed!
SO... here's my problem:
Athearn diesel railings
Does anyone have any ideas on replacing the handrails on Athearnd diesels?: They look great but are very friable and do not hold up well.

Arnold N Pacific Rebuild and Paint
Trying to upload a picture of my Arnold Pacific I just finished rebuilding. I must be uploading pictures the wrong way because this has been very difficult. Does the site have a tutorial on uploading pictures? Have fun, Mark.
Grain Door Boxcar Question
I received a big box of old Athearn Blue Box kits this month. Among many of the familiar rolling stock were 3 'Grain-Loading-Door' Box Cars. They are 40' boxcars with the door molded into the body. The door has a couple of hatches near the top of the side doors. These kits are all undecorated - so my question is two-fold.
What era were these cars in use during? I model 1955 in Southern Ontario - would these find a home on my layout - or are they fodder for E-Bay?

Looking for the least costly trucks for On3
The club I belong too has a fleet of On3 cars that all need their trucks replaced. They are mostly scratchbuilt and hardly conform to the NMRA Gauge. The previous owner of the cars (who sadly passed away many years ago and his family gave the club the cars) was not interested in operation. The O Scale group (currently only 2 of us, but we have a few new members coming on board who are interested in joining the O Scale group) is interested in operation so we want to upgrade the trucks by replacing them all. I originally was hoping to find EBT based trucks, but the

Just having a little fun - An N&W C32-P caboose kitbash
I had a Bachmann wide vision caboose sitting around waiting for inspiration to strike.

Sorry for the photo being washed out. It's kind of hard to photograph clean white styrene.
