RR Challenger sound decoder

Hi all,

I have a Rivarossi 4-6-6-4 locomotive and I'd like to add a sound decoder to it.

A friend is offering ma an ESU Loksound V.4 decoder at a good price, and he could also load the sound file for me, but on the ESU website they only have the Big Boy sound file, not the specific one for the Challenger.

Are the BigBoy sounds so much different than the ones of a Challenger?

Stranger in a stange land

The past couple of days a strange locomotive has been sitting at idle for a hour or two on a siding, at the same time each day, a few blocks from my house.  Thought to grab a cell-pic and throw that out there.  Quality of the pic is bad of course- from my truck on a street at a full stop with the window down and the sun just went behind a cloud...ah well.  Fortunately no traffic behind me to let me know the error of my ways.

Adding weight to a Bachmann Steam Loco

I'm posting this as it may be useful to other folks with steam locos.

I just purchased an HO Bachmann 2-8-4 Berkshire steam loco from MRH sponsor Yankee Dabbler. It's not a spectrum model. I model in the diesel era, but I think steam locos are cool. So I got one. My intention was to use it to haul a "museum" passenger train consisting of 7 heavyweight passenger cars.

B'mann HO K4 - What do I do with it?

At a train show yesterday, I purchased a Bachmann PRR K4 Pacific for the princely sum of $20.  I don't really need a K4, and I seriously doubt that one ever ran on the Danville & Western, or even that it could have made it if they tried.  However, the price was just too good to pass up, so I bought it.  Now I'm asking for some advice on what to do with it.

A beautiful day in the neighborhood...

...for a Trolley!

Trolley

"Scrapbashed" from a Bachmann N-scale Brill trolley and mated to a Kato 11-104 powered chassis (with the ends trimmed off).  Will be mated with a 2'x2' N-scale microlayout version of the HO-scale train set that used to open/close Mister Rogers' Neighborhood TV show.
