DCC Decoder Connection
I am having a problem with the Soundttrax DBX9000 connector that you use to make electrical connections between the steam loco and tender. I have just completed converting an older Riverrossi Berkshire "Nickel Plate" steam engine to DCC. This was a very nice conversion and works just great. The problem I am having is the connector plug, Soundtrax DBX9000 I am using doesn't go all the way into the female receiver part in order to make an electrical connection.
what would you buy HO GP with sound DCC
Running a small switching layout. What would you buy, 4 axle my preference ( NS or CSX) DCC with sound on todays market and why. Will only run one sound equipped engine. Thanks for you thoughts. Zeke
How wide is Bachmann On30 equipment?
I'm an HO guy, but thinking about making a small On30 diorama, and perhaps building a few things in that scale. How wide are Bachmann On30 locomotives and cars? (real world measurement, not scale.) I want anything I might build to match widthwise.
Thanks!
Proto freelance connecting/bridge or short/branch line railroad
Hi all.
RS3-M
Pretty sure the answer to this question is "no", but I figured I'd throw it out there anyway. Has any model loco manufacturer ever produced a DCC ready or equipped EMD variant of the RS3 with the GP9 long hood and all the various 567 accoutrements?
Thanks,
Jeff
EDIT: Should have mentioned that I'm looking for HO scale. :o)
HOn3 Mann's Creek Shay kit
I stumbled across a couple of Shay kits for the Mann's Creek #2 and 1st #5.
These kits are buy a company that I have not heard of (and now several weeks later can't remember). They are modified version of the MDC Shay kit. They have some minor changes in the frame that looks to better represent the Mann's Creek engines and the trucks are somewhat assembled. But I didn't get a chance to really see what the difference is.
They wanted about 50% more for these models then for the standard MDC narrow gauge Shay.
Jeep loads
I model the C&O in 1943. As such a lot of military loads should be seen on the layout. But military loads are hard to pull off. Right now I would like to model a few flatware loads of Jeeps. The two issues with this are as follows.
First I can't find a model of a jeep the way they tended to be shipped. That is with the window folded down so they could be stacked on top of each other.
The second issue is cost. If you are putting 6 or 8 jeeps on a car it is not really practical to pay 15 to 25 per jeep.
Are RS3 RS11 chassis interchangable
Are Atlas/Kato HO RS3 and RS11 the same, what about RS36 and RS3 ? Thanks Zeke
This seems too good to be true 24 Bachmann freight cars
I you have seen my other topic, I am thinking of moving from HO to N Scale. I have come across this from Bachmann
This makes them $10.77 each. Normally, N scale frieght cars are around $18 - $24 each. Has anyone bought this set? Is it a quick way to stock up?
