Scenery and structures
Making the Old Look New Again
I have recently assumed the task of overseeing the enlivening of the scenery on our aging club layout. We have over 600 sq. ft. of surface scenery and hundreds of trees -- all of which are many years old. After a recent addition to the club facility, we are expanding the layout and want the older scenery to regain its liveliness when seen in conjunction with the newer scenery.
We have dusted, swept, vacuumed and brushed -- it still looks "weary!" Short of tearing out and replacing, any suggestions?
Tunnel construction
I was going crazy trying to find something inexpensive and easy to use for tunnel walls especially since they would be mostly covered up and then this idea came to me. This is simply a pattern I found on the internet printed on plain paper and glued to styrofoam walls. These are a couple quick pics I snapped with my iPhone.

Industry Photo - Details to pick out
I found this photo on eBay and thought it had a wealth of ideas for detailing an industry.
This should be a George Mervin photo although uncredited.
Rock molds
I have several of the woodland scenic molds and several that I made myself years ago. I am looking for a handful of new ones. The woodland scenic molds I have are really stiff. They are great for making castings and then using hot glue after they cure to attach them. My older home made molds are soft. I like placing the molds in place while they are still pliable and so they adhere to uneven cliff faces and such.
What I am looking for is who makes some softer molds that I can pour and bend around contours while they are still pliable?
Walther's modern coaling tower - track spacing
What is the n-scale center-to-center track spacing for the Walther's modern coaling tower?
I'd be interested in other's experience with this structure on their n-scale layout.
2x4 Cafe?
A friend asked me the other day if I remembered an HO structure called the 2x4 Cafe (or maybe, Betty's 2x4 Cafe), and I seem to have some vague recollection along those lines, but a quick web search didn't turn up anything.
Anyone remember such a structure?
Industrial tile flooring
As the the header says,
I am looking for the size of tiles used in flooring in say, a warehouse, if such a floor would be made of tiles. I am currently in the process of drawing up a model of a building for my layout with partially visible interior, and being on the wrong side of the atlantic of my chosen prototype, I feel a quick question here might be cheaper than a study trip to Florida.
Thankyou in advance,
Martin

Santa Fe Train Station (actually a UP station in LA)
I have a strong preference for steam engines, but have collected lots of diesels as well. So lets say I will model that transition era were both were utilized. I am also not a strict time frame person that feels a need to model any particular era. I just like the looks of model trains, particularly the highly detailed ones that have come out over the past 15 years.
Looking for ideas on drybrushing
I recently stained ties on a TT's bridge and I'm satisfied with the creosote look, but need to bring out the edges a tad without overdoing it.

Any suggestions out there.
Building in paper and a new peeling paint discovery
I have discovered a new (at least to me) method for peeling paint. This is in N scale.
