Does "Mountain in Minutes" Expire?

I have no idea how old this "kit" is.  It's a "Mountains in Minutes" Model Landsake Kit.  I am not familiar with what it actually is composed of.  The package is like new, still shrink wrapped so I woudl prefer not opening it.  But what I need to know is, does this stuff "expire"?  It could be as far back as being from the 1970s as this collection was started in the 1950s, but I don't think this company was around back then.

And info on if this stuff could still be good or not would be helpful.

Arduino Controlled Turntable Indexer

So the Vice President of Finance determined that I needed to use my old Heljan turntable with the Hankscraft stepper motor I bought years ago, instead of buying that super duper neat Walthers turntable. There was also something about,  "this organization does not just spend money on things you never use..."

So, As I thought about it, even though it will not turn the biggest locos, it is useful for about 90% of my fleet. Besides, I rebuilt the bridge and gave the TT a slightly more scale look, so why not?

Scratchbuilding from plans with PDF part templates and assembly sketches

Scratchbuilding from plans with PDF part templates and assembly sketches

A Scratch sketch set is a collection of 3d drawings, step by step assembly sketches with directions and materials, some photos, and precise printable templates in N scale. These sets make it easy to do a scratch project of your choice.  I have done 128 sketch sets and they are available to all for free.

These are almost kits, except that you must cut out parts. I use windows from various manufacturers including: Grandt Line, Tichy, and Rslaserkits.

The details are in the next post.

Brainstorming "office" building near yard

So, on the club layout. WE have a location where an approximatly 4' wide section is split in 2 with a yard on 1 side and another yard about 6" higher on the other. Club members have made it abundantly clear that they do not want a scenic divider here. They want to use "double sided flats" representing a different industry or owner on each side. Right now, The central building is a scratchbuilt Icehouse that is a show piece (Icehouse on one side, cold storage warehouse on the other).

Lets see your Background buildings and flats !

Was kind of interested in seeing peoples background buildings and flats that are scratchbuilt . So post away !smiley

Has anyone ever seen a double track Warren truss bridge?

My friend who just started getting into modeling acquired some Atlas Warren truss bridges. He wanted to use them in conjunction with a Walthers through truss. The problem is that the Walthers bridge is scale and the Atlas bridge has that awful code 100 deck that is a solid piece of plastic.
