Decoder Pro and Speed Tables
I am attempting to match loco speeds using Decoder Pro, however the speed table tab is not selectable. Any ideas?
Thanks

Did I buy the right item
I just order a PR3 to use to program and use with my layout .what I have is an old IBM computor with windows professional.and has JMRI It not contected to the internet .Will this system work with my setup.
DCC throttle and Turnout Control
Lately I have seen a bit of discussion on the subject of controlling the turnouts on ones layout using DCC. I have always thought I would keep turnout control separate from the DCC system. Keep the throttles for running trains. The only reason I can see to use decoders for turnouts would be to have a computer based panel like JMRI offers. Otherwise I would just stick to using traditional turnout controls, be it wired panels, manual remote operated or some combination of the two.

O scale and 1156 bulbs for short management
I am using an NCE 10 amp system (wireless) and am now finalizing my
yard wiring. It appears that using one 1156 is not enough. If I have
three locomotives with sound in the power district and begin to use
another, the light begins to glow with no short. I am guessing that
it's because of the normal O Scale currents I am using. The faster I
try to go the brighter the light and less power back to the locomotives.
Using two 1156 in parallel seems to stop that problem but still gives
Leds ; resisters & watts
I am frustrated with putting leds in locos at club layout. First off We are using the Railcommand system, The recievers in locos are putting about 18 + volts out to the leds. I ordered some 3 mm sunny white leds from Litchfield & used the 1/8 w 820 resisters I got from them. The leds' color was great but they fried fairly quickly. I used an online calculater ( I have been all over web trying to figure this out ) I used values of 18 volts 1.5 forward voltage, 20ma ,it showed I needed a resister of 1 K ,1 watt. Isn't this going to be a huge resister ?

DCC
Hello all, I have been contemplating on a dcc system to purchase. Mostly all I hear about is Digitrax and NCE, does anyone have first hand knowledge with the MRC prodigy system. From what I have read, this seems to be a fairly simple system that would be great for my small layout. As I live in a rural area I do not have ready access to a hobby shop or a club layout to test these systems out. I have used MRC's DC controllers and have been very happy with the quality, I am curious if this quality caries over to their DCC system.
Thanks
Track Wiring
I am building my first layout. It is a 4X8 with a single main line loop and mulitple sidings. I have made only one connection from my transformer to the track, but I've read some articles that lead me to believe I should have more? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Turnouts
Hi!
I am a new modelrailroader, just startet in the n scale. I do have some problems with my turnouts. I use Kato tracks. When i have put the tracks together, the train runs a little and then stops. If i then turn one of the turnouts it runs again. Is it right that it should do that?
I may also say that i am running dcc.
Best regards

DCC help
OK, you guys got me curious here. I am starting to drool over the thought of DCC. I knew DCC was supposed to be great but after the comments on my blog post I am seriously considering begging my wife for a system (sigh).

SIP Sockets for harnesses?
Does anyone have a proper part number for these? I snagged a pile of low profile IC sockets from Digikey. Unfortunately, they aren't the right ones. I was planning to use these are harnesses/sockets for lighting and whatnot.
Unfortunately the pins are just a little too think to fit into themselves so I can't stack them the way I could with some of the older ones. If I can find the right headers I might be able to still use them, but I'm not able to use them the same way Joe does in his video.
Any ideas?
