What decoder would you recommend for an Atlas AEM-7
I have a couple of AEM-7's that need to make the switch to DCC, I would like to add strobes, ditch lights, and marker lights to them, sound would be a huge plus! Any recommendations on what decoder could handle it?
Which DCC system offers the smoothest stationary decoder routing operation?
Hi,
I realize asking any "which system is best" DCC question is like asking which religion should I join, so hopefully this won't break down into a non productive argument.
I am looking for advice from modelers who are familiar with a variety of systems and might have some advice on which system would work best for the type of layout I am building and will be operating.
Decoder Pro Issues
So after a long fight to get a pc to see the CVP Easy DCC head unit, I can read CVs with (apparently) no problems, but writing them seems to fail, either in Service mode or ops mode. I can't even change a decoder address! Note that all programming still works fine off of the CVP controller.
Decoder pro reports no errors, and the window shows sending and receiving data commands for each call.
I'm going to give a shout out to CVP tomorrow, but I thought I'd post this to see if anyone might have a suggestion.

Surroundtraxx Sound System - Any Info?
Since I model in N-Scale and conventional sound systems won't work well for that scale, I have been researching the new Surroundtraxx sound system. On the surface, it appears this would be the way to go for N-Scale layouts, the price nothwithstanding <g>. Has anyone had the opportunity to see this system in action, maybe as a demo, that could provide some comments? I know it's a brand new system/concept and it will likely have some growing pains but I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has some first-hand knowledge of it.

Adjusting TCS decoders for good low speed running
@ Joe
You mentioned in your MRH #2 DCC article you are using TCS T1 decoder in Tunnel motors, using BEMF for great low speed running.
I have both T1 and M1 decoders, and would like to try BEMF.
Can you provide CV's to activate BEMF, and what CV's you tweak to deactivate BEMF when the speed is higher?

Code 83 Nickel Silver Rail
I need bulk code 83 NS rail to make Joe Fugate's turnouts. He used CV rail but I'm not certain they still sell bulk rail. What is the best choice to use that will best fit Micro-Engineering flex track?

Bachman Dynamis DCC
Can anyone provide me with some information about Bachmans Dynamis DCC. I saw this at the hobby shop today and they told me it was a new product, From what I saw, it looked pretty interesting. I'm about ready to make the plunge into DCC and this looks like what I am looking for.
Any comments or suggestions about this product would be greatly appreciated.
Fast Track turnout jigs
Anybody out there using the Fast Tracks turn out jigs? I've bought the number 6 turnout jig for the yards and number 8 jig for the mainline. I've built about four so far and my quality control has improved with each one but I'm still having a slight problem where the point rail meets the closure rail on the diverging route. The point rail always seems to touch the closure rail about 1/2" from the heel of the point rail. I am using the point form tool and I'm shaping the rail according to the instructions but it keeps happening.
